I love watching my babies' personalities develop and seeing how different they are from one another.
Troy is the strong willed, wild one. He loves life and will take every opportunity to explore, which often leads to digging in the mud and other messy places which is why Extra Sensitive Wipes is always on our shopping list. It wipes up the mess making it an essential for a toddler like Troy! Cade on the other hand, although he’s only a baby he definitely has a much more
gentle nature than his older brother and of course, more sensitive, baby skin.
These wipes are used on both of my boys - wiping away spit up, nappy changes, muddy fingers and toes and so much more.
Babies are only babies once, and I feel that a very important part of raising children is to let them be children, messes included.

Using gentle products on this cute chunky baby’s body is important, which is why we are loving the Cotton Touch newborn range. Both our boys smell amazing and it makes bedtime cuddles all the more special. 🥰

Also, a quick for you, I like to put a few squirts of baby oil in the bath with them (and sometimes in mine with a few drops of essential oils) to protect their skin and keep it moisturised longer- especially if it’s a day that the kids are fussy and I don’t think putting on oil or moisturiser will happen that night. Two birds, one stone! Give it a try, see if you like it!

These boys are growing up having their parents workout at home a few times a week, and sometimes we even use the boys as weights! Who needs weights when you have a 7 kg baby or a 16 kg toddler?! In between sets we like to use the Johnson's Baby SA Extra Sensitive wipes for everything, from wiping down mats & kettlebells, to dirty mouths and sandy toes.As a working mom of two, it can be tough to find time to exercise other than during nap time, which doesn’t always happen, so I incorporate the kids into my workouts as much as possible. Exercise for you health-conscious mamas: Pick 4 exercises, and do those for the length of one song.
For example: burpees, squat jumps, mountain climbers and push-ups. It’s a quick and fun workout where the kids can dance along, and you can get your sweat on!

Reality vs…Reality!

We knew that it would be harder with two kids, like I knew that in my brain, but I wasn’t ready for how wild, messy and emotional it would be. Sometimes you can feel like you’re being pulled in all directions and it can be overwhelming!

One of my fave for bath time is to put some stickers or toys on the ceiling. This way it helps when baby or toddler needs to look up so you can wash the foam out of their hair, they can look at the ceiling, making it easier for everyone!

Something I love about the Cotton Touch range is how it is both gentle and effective, and formulated with 100% gentle ingredients. Using a gentle wash that doesn’t hurt the eyes is always a plus, in addition to the stickers, it’s a foolproof plan! The highs and lows of motherhood are steep, and within one minute it can go from cute kisses to screaming babies & mess everywhere. But man, those little kisses are worth it.

As a fitness coach who works from home and having 2 kids under the age of 26 months in a global pandemic, let’s just say that things can get a bit crazy up in here! Making sure my family is healthy, replying to clients, creating content, prepping healthy food, exercising, and taking care of inner and outer well-being can be tough.
After dinner time it’s bath time.
In order to make things run smoothly and quickly, we put Troy in charge of big boy things like turning the taps on/off, making sure the toys are in the bath, and by helping bathe himself and his baby brother. One of the best to use with toddlers is to use a timer. You can use one of those sand ones, an egg timer or your phone! Kids love pressing buttons so setting the timer is always a winner- “in 5 minutes it’s bath time! Go get the bath ready”! 🛁
We do the same routine every night. Bath, massage, stories, milk, bed. We’ve used the Family range since Troy was born, so when they came out with the Cotton Touch newborn range I was very excited to try it. Newborn babies have much thinner skin than we adults do and they need sensitive wash, wipes and lotions. We’ve been using the Cotton Touch wash, lotion and oil since Cade was born and we all really love it. Finding something gentle I can use on both of my boys is crucial, as it makes bath time easier. Following a bath time/bedtime routine since day 1 with both of my babies has really helped get our boys to bed fast and sleep longer. WIN! Overall health is a big thing in this house, and skincare is no different! ❤️

This pregnancy we were blessed with the most amazing keepsake, a belly bowl. It’s basically a cast of your preggy belly that’s made into a piece of art.
I just gave birth 11 days ago and I already forget what it was like to have had this big belly and can’t believe this perfect, beautiful creature was created in this small gorgeous space. The story of the bowl is even more precious. I wanted something oceanic to remind me of where my babies were born, in a city surrounded by the ocean. Another thing about Cape Town is the wind. The wind in Cape Town is on another level. While discussing the design of this bowl, we kept it simple with a crackle effect and deep ocean colours. But Cape Town had other ideas and blew the bowl off where it was sitting and cracked it, resulting in the kintsugi repair you see here. To me it makes this piece even more unique, and even more perfect. This bowl will be showcased in my house forever, will be an incredible conversation piece, and will always remind me of my wild 2020 pregnancy, and my favourite Windy City in the world. 🌍⛅️ 🌬
