You are POWERFUL
You are a GODESS

It is YOUR body
It is YOUR baby

Do not forget this!

Your care provider SERVES you

Many women hand over their bodies over to their care providers, take charge of your own pregnancy and birth.
Equipt yourself with knowledge to make informed decisions.

You are a badass mama.
You are sacred.

Truer words could not be spoken - once you become empowered with information and your choices, your inner lioness is unleashed.

I'm not talking about being co-ersed with misinformation or making decisions based on fear created by your care provider. Being educated about your choices in order to make informed choices, that is when your inner strength in unleashed.

With my first birth, I had NO information. My Dr made decisions about my birth, I had no choices because I was not informed with information. The birth could have gone very differently if I was not so stubborn.

It's your body, it's your baby, it's your choice.

Hello!

I am Aqeelah, mother of three, I had a hospital birth, homebirth and a planned unassisted birth.
All three completely different births and my children's personalities are exactly as their birth was. Go figure!

I am a certified WOMBS Doula, Professional Postpartum Care Provider student, Midwifery Student and currently completing a holistic Birthkeeper & Doula training. I am trained in CPR & AED. I continously learn and attend workshops to upskill and to learn new things. I am a seeker of knowledge, I believe learning should be life-long.

I offer holistic support to mothers during labour, birth and postpartum based in Cape Town and I offer my services virtually, because why should location matter.

With love.

Postpartum care

There is a lack of continuous care during the postpartum period. Many women who birth at a hospital or clinic are sent home with their baby with very little idea of how to recover, how to take care of their baby and what is in fact very normal.

Midwives attending homebirths are often stretched thin, and would benefit from a skilled assistant to check in on the mother and baby during the first week and report back when and if needed to the midwives.

This type of support has been implemented in The Netherlands for three decades with huge success, it has shown that early skilled postpartum care is critical to promote healthy mothering and family practices, exclusive breastfeeding, good nutrition, appropriate hygiene, emotional wellbeing and general newborn care.

I am currently a Professional Postpartum Care Provider student and I am looking to offer my services at a student rate to mothers based in the Southern Surburbs.

If you would like to know more information or if you would like to sign up for some much needed postpartum care, email me.

You are sacred. 🍀

It is about control. Those who are in control of society at large do not want free or wise people. They do not want people who can do it themselves, are autonomous. They prefer followers, people who do what they are told.

Numerous studies have documented the benefits of having a doula present during labour. Evidence has shown that when mom has continuous support during labor, she is less likely to ask for pain medication and more likely to be satisfied with her birth experience. She’s also less likely to have a c-section or require forceps. It is clear that labour support is a must. ☺️

The study examined the safety of place of birth by reporting on the risk of death at the time of birth or within the first four weeks, and found no clinically important or statistically different risk between home and hospital groups.
