Kuslangs vir Kanker "Hospice"
The twin brothers, Bouwer and Laurentius Schoonwinkel, together with their support team, undertook a Walk for Cancer in aid of Overstrand Hospice. This walk covered 104 km from L’Agulhas to Danger Point, Gansbaai, and was completed over a period of four days.

During this selfless project, an incredible amount of R60,167 was raised. Sister Susan van Sittert and Sister Ralie Dicks received this generous donation on behalf of Overstrand Hospice.

We want to express our sincere thanks and appreciation on behalf of the Overstrand Hospice team for this remarkable effort.

We are delighted to share that Overstrand Hospice has achieved 5-star accreditation through the APCC Quality Assurance and Accreditation Programme!

This is the highest level of accreditation and recognises Overstrand’s excellence in governance, clinical care, organisational systems, and their ongoing commitment to providing compassionate, dignified palliative care to the Hermanus community.

Their achievement follows a detailed self-assessment, peer review, and an on-site verification survey by APCC surveyors. The final results were confirmed in December 2025.

A heartfelt congratulations to the entire Overstrand Hospice team.
