Anxiety’s two best friends are uncertainty and avoidance. We dislike the discomfort of not knowing, which drives us to avoid taking action at the risk of getting it wrong. We relax when we experience that relief we get from avoidance, but it never lasts, does it? Usually, the avoidance of uncertainty fuels anxiety more than it provides relief, triggering more distress the next time you experience the source.
Let’s reframe the drive towards intentional action from perfect action to good enough action.
