Please take note of the following:

Emergency or Yellow Lane Driving Do’s & Don’ts

Here’s what the law states according to Regulation 298A of the National Road Traffic Act:

Freeway Driving:

Using the emergency lane as a “passing lane” on a freeway is not permitted at all.The emergency lane is to be used for emergencies only and is reserved for fire-fighting vehicles, emergency response vehicles, rescue vehicles and ambulances. You are permitted to use the emergency lane if you have a real emergency, such as if your car breaks down, if you are rushing to the hospital, or if you need to stop immediately because you are facing a medical emergency.

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU HEAR EMERGENCY SIRENS!! PSE LET'S START BEING CONSIDERATE!!!

Give way, especially during rush hour. for ambulances, fire engines, police or other emergency vehicles using flashing blue, red lights, headlights and sirens.
When passing the scene of an accident don’t be distracted or slow down unnecessarily ‒ avoid causing another crash or bottlenecking
Don’t disregard the emergency lights and sirens and continue to travel despite the response
Let's assist emergency response personnel to provide fast and effective help. If you had an emergency or a loved one was in peril you’d want the emergency servicesc to reach them as quickly as possible, so bear that in mind when you see those flashing lights and hear those sirens headed your way!
MOVE OUT OF THE WAY!
