Lyn Wade's Perinatal Clinic Well Baby clinic by appointment only. Advice on Breastfeeding, Weaning, Introducing solids, Sleeping Lyn qualified as a Professional Nurse and Midwife in 1990.

Lyn Wade's Perinatal Clinic is the only Private Well Baby Clinic in Pietermaritzburg. Having a special interest in babies and children she worked for many years in a Paediatricians Practice running their Well Baby Clinic. Here she gained invaluable experience and insight into babies and their mothers. In 2005 she went independantly and created Lyn Wade's Perinatal Clinic. She is also the proud author of 'PERFECT STEPS BABY BOOK'. Lyn specialises in being of assistance to moms and their babies from when they first come home with their new borns including breastfeeding. Her clinic offers immunisation (state & private), growth and development assessments, weening and introducing solids with a special interest in feeding and sleeping disorders. All consultations are by appointment only to avoid waiting in queues. Home visits by special arrangements. Lyn is also involved in antenatal and postnatal classes. These antenatal classes are very informative so as to help prepare ‘moms and dads to be’ for the arrival of their Precious Little Bundles. The postnatal classes cover numerous interesting topics to guide the Mom through the first couple of months as well as providing an excellent support system. Bookings are now open for my next Antenatal Class *** 14 March '26 ***
Although nothing can fully prepare you for the birth of your baby and taking your little one home, coming to a Childbirth Education Class will answer any questions you might have and alleviate and fears.
The Class includes a tour around the Life Hilton Hospital Maternity Ward, Labour Ward and the Nursery. It will help you familiarise yourself for when the big day arrives.

I want to share some exciting news! I will be starting in private practice in psychiatry this January (joining Dr Vidette Juby and Shaun Hains’ practice in Hilton ).

Mental health care is something I’m deeply passionate about, and I really value working in a collaborative, holistic way. I will be seeing adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients, with an approach that looks at the whole person (biologically, psychologically, socially, and culturally) and tailors care to each individual.

To make things as accessible and affordable as possible, I will have medical aid arrangements in place with most of the common medical aids, allowing for direct billing and minimal out-of-pocket costs. I will be opening my practice on 12 January 2026.
