It is with heartfelt gratitude and sadness that Hoedspruit Family Practice and the Hoedspruit community will be saying farewell to Dr Ruben Van Aswegen.

Ruben embarks on an exciting journey to pursue further studies in KZN, and we have every reason to believe that his path will lead him to become a remarkable specialist who will make a profound impact, hopefully even back at our hospital.

As a colleague and friend, Ruben has been a shining example of dedication, compassion, and passion, touching the lives of patients and colleagues alike with his exceptional care. His presence has enriched our practice, and we are grateful for the time we've had with him.

Ruben's final consulting day at the practice will be 14 May 2026.

Hoedspruit Family Practice is very sad to be bidding farewell to our wonderful Dr Sarah Best. Sarah has been an absolute asset to the practice, joining us during Dr Julia’s maternity leave and providing amazing support and care to so many patients.
Sarah will be relocating to KwaZulu-Natal to persue her dream of studying further to become a Paediatrician. We wish her well in all her future plans and obviously pray she returns to Hoedspruit as a fully qualified specialist one day. Thank you so much Sarah 🙏
