Man Hospitalised After Early-Morning Shooting in Adelaide; Attempted Murder Case Opened

Adelaide, Eastern Cape β A 42-year-old man is recovering in hospital after being shot during an early-morning incident on Queen Street in Adelaide. Police have confirmed that a case of attempted murder has been opened and a suspect has been arrested.
Family members confirmed that the victim was born on 1 December 1983. He sustained serious injuries during the shooting, including a bullet lodged in his stomach and a broken arm.
He is currently receiving treatment at Adelaide Hospital and is awaiting transfer by ambulance to a medical facility in East London for further medical care. According to his family, no surgery has been performed at this stage.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:00 AM at a local bed-and-breakfast on Queen Street.
According to information confirmed by the family, the victim alone approached another tenant to request that loud music be turned down while other occupants were asleep. Moments later, gunshots were fired.
The bed-and-breakfast has requested not to be named, citing concerns that publicity may negatively affect its business. Management has indicated it will fully cooperate with the police investigation.
Local police have confirmed that:

- A suspect has been arrested
- Eleven spent shells were recovered at the scene
