While a balanced diet is key, certain vitamins and supplements can help support you and your baby’s health:

-Folic Acid: Helps prevent neural tube defects, usually recommended before conception and in the first 12 weeks.
👉Iron: Supports your blood and helps prevent fatigue.
👉Calcium & Vitamin D: Essential for strong bones and teeth for both you and your baby.
👉Omega-3 (DHA): Supports your baby’s brain and eye development.
👉Prenatal Multivitamins: Can help fill any gaps in your diet and give you peace of mind.

A gentle reminders:

Always talk to your healthcare provider before starting any new supplement.

Pregnancy is a time to nurture yourself, from the inside out. Taking these little steps can make a big difference, for you and your baby. 🌸

It’s normal to have questions (or worries!) about getting intimate again after birth.

Your body has been through so much, and it’s okay if things feel different:
Vaginal soreness or dryness
Changes in desire
Emotional ups and downs
Tiredness (oh, the sleepless nights!)

Here are some gentle reminders:
💛Be patient with yourself. There’s no rush, listen to your body and take your time.
💛Talk with your partner. Sharing how you feel can help you both reconnect in new ways.
💛Use lubrication if needed. Comfort matters.
💛Take it slow. Soft, gentle intimacy is perfectly okay.
💛Check in with your healthcare provider. Any pain, bleeding, or concerns deserve attention.

Remember, your body and your relationship are both adjusting, and that’s completely normal. You don’t have to “bounce back” or hit any timelines.

First things first, don’t panic.
Here’s what you should do if your water breaks:

1️⃣ Note the time – Your doctor will want to know when it happened.
2️⃣ Check the colour & smell – Clear or slightly pink is usually normal. Green, brown, or foul-smelling fluid? Call your doctor immediately.
3️⃣ Put on a pad (not a tampon) – This helps track how much fluid is leaking.
4️⃣ Call your healthcare provider – They’ll advise whether to come in right away or monitor at home, depending on your pregnancy stage and situation.
5️⃣ Stay calm & rest – Labour may start soon, but guidance from your doctor is key.

Remember, every pregnancy is different, so your OB-GYN’s advice is the one that matters most!

Dear new mommy,
If you’ve kept a tiny human alive, given love and cuddles, and managed to feed yourself too, you’ve done brilliantly. Everything else is extra.

Motherhood isn’t about getting it all perfect, it’s about showing up with love (and sometimes snacks for yourself). You’re doing better than you think. 🌸

Five simple but super effective tips from Dr Phasha from My OBGYN to help pregnant women sleep better:

1. Tell your doctor if you’re struggling with sleep
2. Avoid taking naps during the day
3. Steer clear of caffeinated drinks or hot, spicy food
4. Have supper before 6 pm to reduce heartburn at night

Skin-to-skin contact after birth isn’t just sweet, it’s science. Placing your baby on your chest right after delivery helps to:
✨ Regulate your baby’s temperature, breathing, and heartbeat
✨ Release oxytocin (the “love hormone”) for both mom and baby
✨ Boost bonding and calmness
✨ Encourage early breastfeeding and milk production

That first touch says, “You’re safe. You’re loved. I’m here.”

We gathered as a family and broke bread.
Collaboration and ideas on how to care for women better were discussed and cemented at the dinner table.

For a few days only, Obstetricians & Gynaecologists from around world 🌍 gathered under one roof, for academic enrichment & enlightenment, to share research results & ideas, to discuss, debate and even argue when it was necessary.

At the core of it all was womens’ health.

It cannot be that every 4 minutes a woman dies from post partum bleeding, that basic ante-natal and intra-partum care is unreachable to some women, that contraceptive is still denied in some parts of the world.

Did you know? As your baby grows, your organs shift to accommodate them:

💛Your stomach and intestines move upwards (hello, heartburn!)
💛Your bladder feels the squeeze (which explains all those loo trips 🚽)
💛Your lungs and diaphragm adjust, sometimes making it harder to catch your breath
💛Even your heart works harder, pumping more blood to support you and your baby ❤️

It’s an incredible reminder of just how powerful the female body is. Pregnancy is not always easy, but the changes your body makes are nothing short of extraordinary.

At MyOBGYN, we’re here to guide you through every stage, with care, understanding, and support.

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month
This month, we’re reminded of the importance of early detection, and one of the most powerful tools we have is the mammogram.

👩🏽‍⚕️When should you book yours?

40 years and older → most women should begin annual or bi-annual mammograms.
Younger than 40 → if you have a family history of breast cancer, genetic risks (like BRCA1/2), or other concerns, your doctor may advise earlier screening.

Don’t skip your clinical breast exams, these are important alongside mammograms.

Every woman’s risk profile is unique. Chat to your gynaecologist about the right screening plan for you.

This October, let’s prioritise our health. Early detection can save lives. 💕

At MYOBGYN, we honour every woman’s journey, from adolescence to motherhood and beyond. Today, we celebrate the heritage of resilience, strength, and care passed down through generations.
