You are merely supply to their ego. Yes, you can feel sorry for them, as narcissism is a defence mechanism due to childhood trauma, BUT feeling sorry for them(as they are actually miserable and deeply unhappy people) is no reason to stay in the abuse, at some point... They know exactly what they are doing.

They break you.
They ground your self worth and confidence to dust.
They attack you for speaking up, when they hurt/disrespect you.

They have no, or barely any real emotion(what they do have is normally mirrored)

You deserve someone who prioritizes you, doesn't lievand manipulate you, can sort issues out like adults and take accountability, wants to see you, wants to make memories with you, wants to build a life with you... You deserve to be loved.

Narcissists have no concept of love, what it is, how to give it, but they will take. Oh will they take.
