Rest days are just as important as active days in your recovery process. While exercise helps strengthen the body, it’s during rest that your muscles repair and rebuild. Overworking yourself can lead to burnout and even setbacks. Incorporating rest allows your body to heal properly, ensuring you make progress without risking injury.

Remember, recovery is a balance. Give your body the time it needs to rest and recharge.

Stress, your nervous system & injury risk...

Your body doesn’t separate physical and mental load, it all runs through the same system: your central nervous system (CNS).

When stress levels stay high, your CNS keeps your body in a state of readiness. Muscles stay slightly tense, recovery slows down, and pain sensitivity can increase. Over time, this can make you more prone to niggles, stiffness, or injury, especially if you’re training hard or not sleeping well.

Physiotherapy can help by calming the system, improving movement efficiency, and managing load so your body can adapt and recover.
