The venue at Kensington’s Buddhist Centre is marvelous and friendly and enthusiastic groups enjoy classes that are varied but structured, challenging enough and also fun. Wednesdays 18h00 till 19h15 (Foundation Class)
Saturdays 08h30 till 10h00 Fees are: One class per week: R400 per month Two classes per week: R650 per month Three classes per week R800 per month Drop in: R140 per class. Steve is qualified to teach Iyengar yoga, which he’s been practicing for twenty five years. Yoga increases both stability and mobility, strengthening core, lower and upper body in a balanced way. It enhances stamina, improves respiratory capacity and vigour, resulting in greater confidence, composure and mental focus. It’s ideal for those who may not be physically active right now, as well as those who are fit and involved in other activities, but for example want more flexibility. Iyengar Yoga specifically involves sustained focus on precision and correct alignment, involving the use of props that enable each student to practice optimally at his own level with low risk of injury. Ease, physical and mental awareness and calm are worthwhile spin-offs.
