The Longevity Centre was founded in 2017 by Dr Burt Jooste, a General Practitioner with a special interest in Aesthetic and Integrative Medicine. Dr Burt has always had a passion not just to ensure that patients look good, but more so that they feel good. Health and wellness certainly start from within, and that is where true longevity also lies, hence the name for the Clinic. These 2 dynamic fields of medicine is becoming more and more inseparable from each other in the world that we’re living in. We have to become more vigilant in preventing disease, we can’t just treat it any longer. One of my most important saying is “If you don’t make time for health, one day you will make time for illness.” We have so many new tools to our disposal in these 2 fields of medicine, and this allows us to look younger, be stronger and be the best version of ourselves, no matter what age we are. Dr Burt finished Medicine in 2005, and did his Internship and community service at the Pretoria Academic Hospital. It was here that he developed a keen interest in the field of Ophthalmology (Eye surgery), which he pursued for over 4 years. Although he was very fond of this discipline he still felt that there was something lacking. It was here that he was introduced to Integrative Medicine, and he never looked back. Dr Burt was one of the first doctors in South Africa to complete his Advanced Diploma in Aesthetic Medicine (Cum Laude) in Pretoria. He also attended numerous congresses, courses and seminars in the fields of Integrative & Aesthetic Medicine. He was also privileged to be invited to attend the World Congress of Aesthetic and Anti-Ageing Medicine in Monte Carlo, Monaco in May of 2017. Dr Burt is part of the Aesthetic and Anti-Aging Medicine Society of South Africa (AAMSSA) as well as the South African Society of Integrative Medicine (SASIM).
