Are you a su***de survivor? Well, this could be your chance to save another life through your experience.
As you know we committed to fight the number of su***de fatalities among men, so we would like to take a bold step to call on all survivers to tell us about their experience with hopes to help other men out there.
DM us your story and tell us how you become a survivor in a few words. We will filter the details and keep it anonymous when sharing on our page.
T&C do apply, and if you still require help we will be glad to direct you to mental health professionals that can assist you in the journey.

So we thought to drop some stats to raise awareness around men and su***de globally. The numbers are disheartening and as a global issue, we all are affected by the loss of lives that are massively skewed towards males.
Men struggle with a lot of mental illnesses and in South Africa we see an incredibly alarming number of men who still view this as taboo or not a black man thing. Despite the diverse cultural dynamics in our country, we also see a poor sense of understanding around mental health and a reluctance towards embracing this as one of the important pillars of defining manhood.
As Table Manners we are not blind to the fact there is still a long way to go in trying to fight the number of suicidal fatalities amongst men. However, we remain committed to opening the conversation about mental health with men and providing interventions that assist the journey towards saving lives.
Let's normalize mental health chats as bros and encourage more platforms that get men talking.

Table Manners Initiative
It's Su***de Prevention Day today and we would like to encourage each of you to stand up and fight the numbers to save lives.
With 2020 being one of the harder years due to COVID 19, we witness an increase of fatalities and unprecedented mental health cases across the globe.
Today we fight for more than a million lives lost over the year and continue to call on interventions that will help many young people through major depressive episodes, anxiety, and more.
As a platform, we remain committed in providing accessible support and equipping young people with skills to deal with hard times.
So keep following our pages and look out for upcoming breakfast conversations.

Table Manners Breakfast | It’s what you bring to the table.
The Table Manners Breakfast is an intimate bring-and-share breakfast gathering modeled to sow overall mental wellness in young South African men through themed conversations and collaborative thought-leadership; over eateries every monthly, for free.
The Table Manner Breakfast is based on a lived insight where many young men suffer hardship in silence as they live through the most critical time of their lives (age 21yrs to 35yrs) under the cultural doctrine that sights manhood and masculinity as a journey of self-imposed resistance towards addressing and dealing with issues that affect them deeply. As a result, men become heavy burdened and overwhelmed by life, leaving them desensitized and unfit to define a clear and well-infromed self-concept.
The table opens this conversation to 10 young men every monthly in pursuit of collaboratively reconfiguring the broken “male” narrative in South Africa. Working towards achieving a progressive state of wellness for all men in our country, especially where young men are central to substance abuse, su***de, crime, gender-based violence, r**e and many more tragic events that happen on a daily basis.
As a social development program, our conversations answer to greater ideals advocated globally and channels sufficiency in sustainable development through impactful and qualitative breakfast sittings. Although Table Manners Breakfast primarily addresses the male narrative, we also package and apply insights that help hammer-down issues around poverty, health, education, gender equality, women and girls. We believe that by understanding and correcting the male narrative in our country, we are able to afford the world one less issue to worry about in the society where men are concerned.
Table Manners Breakfast is founded by Cebo Latha and co-hosted by partners; Thapelo Leluma and Sibusiso Mzolo.
Together we are giving South African men the platform to be as human as possible.
