The Paige Project

The Paige Project The Paige Project is dedicated to raising funds and creating awareness for children with Cerebral Palsy

The Paige Project raises funds by hosting three major events throughout the year. It is through these events that we aim to attract sufficient contributions to assist us, in assisting communities involved with individuals who have Cerebral Palsy. Various smaller projects/events will be hosted throughout the year to sustain our dedicated, ongoing support of these communities.

The PAIGE Project – Closing Chapter (Effective 28 February 2026).

After much reflection, we have made the difficult decision to bring The PAIGE Project to a close, effective 28 February 2026.

What started in 2010 (registered 2009) with a single golf day and a simple “let’s do something more” idea, grew into something far bigger than we ever imagined.

Over the past 15+ years, The PAIGE Project evolved from a small initiative into an organization supporting multiple special-needs homes and hundreds of vulnerable children every year.

We take immense pride in what was built, step by step, event by event, relationship by relationship. From golf days, cycle races, comedy evenings, dinners and endurance events, to the ambassadors, volunteers, donors, family and friends who stood alongside us, The PAIGE Project was never about one person or one moment. It was a collective effort driven by care, persistence, and belief.

On behalf of the 4 founders, Dave, James, Theo & Grant - thank you to our families for your support, encouragement and patience for all these years.

To Ruth - our sincere appreciation for your dedication, professionalism, and the exceptional contribution you have made to The PAIGE Project over the years. Beyond your technical skill and reliability, you consistently brought honesty, integrity, compassion, and genuine care into every aspect of your work. Your love for the children and homes you served, your passion for doing what was right even when it was difficult, and the humanity you brought into challenging situations defined the spirit of The PAIGE Project as much as any formal structure or program ever could. On a personal level, we are deeply grateful for the trust, loyalty, and warmth you brought into our working relationship. You did not simply fulfil a role; you shaped the heart of the organization. The impact of your work, values, and commitment will continue well beyond the life of The PAIGE Project and will remain something we carry with us personally and professionally.

This decision was not an easy one. Ongoing funding challenges and limited capacity have made it increasingly difficult to continue the work at the level we believe it deserves. For that reason, and for the benefit of everyone involved, we have chosen to make the 2026 financial year our final year and to close the project with intention and dignity.

To everyone who has been part of The PAIGE Project journey since 2010, THANK YOU! The impact made over these years does not disappear with the closing of the organization. It lives on in the children, the homes, and the lives touched along the way.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.

Late post, but pre Bloemfontein bound, with 114 reasons to smile.

Before the magic of last week’s outreach, the journey began with 114 mobility devices packed with purpose and love, headed for children across the Free State, children living with profound disabilities in communities spanning Senekal to all 17 rural clinics and hospitals in the Xhariep district.

On Friday, two 8-ton trucks arrived, generously donated and loaded by our incredible partner Value Logistics. These weren’t just trucks; they were vessels of hope. Each buggy destined to ease the daily burden of families who’ve been carrying their growing children on their backs, or watching them struggle to sit on the floor in discomfort and pain.

One of the most moving moments? Watching the loading crew pause mid-job to take selfies with the trucks. The pride in their faces said it all—this wasn’t just another delivery, it was a life-changing mission.

A heartfelt thank you to Steven Gottschalk and the entire Value Logistics team. Your support moves more than just equipment, it moves hearts, restores dignity, and transforms lives.

Free State, you filled our hearts.

We’ve just returned from an unforgettable outreach at the Free State Psychiatric Complex in Bloemfontein, where The Paige Project joined forces with Boikanyo, The Dion Herson Foundation and the Rotary Club of Rosebank for one of the most impactful Buggy Recycling Workshops we’ve ever been part of.

Over just a few days, 85 children, many from remote, under-resourced communities - were fitted with their very first mobility buggies. In a province where access to appropriate assistive devices has been painfully scarce, this felt like more than just a donation… it felt like dignity being restored.

We met grandmothers carrying their adult children on their backs, and we fitted elders as old as 66 who had spent lifetimes without support. We heard stories of sacrifice and love, like the aunt who, after her sister passed, became a mother to her profoundly disabled niece. “She’s no longer my niece,” she said. “She’s my daughter now.”

The dedication of the Free State therapists was extraordinary. They phoned, fetched, coordinated and comforted, making sure no child was left behind.

This is why we do what we do.

Counting down the days…

In just two sleeps, our team from The Paige Project will be heading to northern KwaZulu-Natal to join our incredible partners at Boikanyo, The Dion Herson Foundation and Rotary Club of Rosebank for a Buggy Recycling Workshop outreach across three hospitals in the Ngwelezana district.

Together, we’ll be equipping therapists and caregivers with recycled and custom-fitted mobility devices, helping children with profound physical challenges access comfort, dignity, and mobility—often for the very first time.

We are deeply honoured to stand alongside those who give their hearts so selflessly. These are the moments that remind us why we do what we do.

, The Dion Herson Foundation

Another 2 sleeps until we are joined by The Paige Project and Rotary Club of Rosebank for an outreach to Ngwelezana Hospital in Northern KZN.
We will run 3 separate buggy recycling workshops for therapists, at 3 different hospitals in the district. We will change the realities of so many children who live in bodies that are so compromised, cared for by loved ones who really understand unconditional love.

How lucky we are to be part of this magnificent project, this Buggy Recycling Workshop.
What and honour it is to spend these ethereal few days with the highest of souls on this earth.

We’re on the move again! 🚚💙
A massive thank you to Value Logistics for transporting a full truckload of recycled buggies, blankets, and spares to northern KZN for our upcoming buggy recycling workshops. Together with Boikanyo and the Rotary Club of Rosebank, we’ll be reaching 7 hospitals across 3 sites in deep rural areas — places where some have waited years for mobility support.
We’re proud to be part of this powerful team effort making dignity and mobility possible. 💪🌍

What an incredible day of padel, fun, and fundraising at our Valentine’s Padel Fundraiser at Jozi Padel! 💖🏓

Together, we raised an amazing R18,562.00, which will go directly toward specialized seating solutions, mobility support, and caregiver training for children living with cerebral palsy.

But that’s not all—While we played, Ruth was in Bela Bela, bringing hope to a family in need. She provided a critical seating intervention and a low-tech communication board for their 13-year-old son, who has never had the chance to attend school.
In partnership with Little Eden, The Paige Project led a second outreach in an informal settlement in Limpopo. Ruth, alongside Rebecca (an OT from Little Eden) and dedicated French volunteers from FEDESCO, worked tirelessly to create a meaningful home program for a teenage boy in desperate need of therapy and education.
Under the shade of a tree, Irene and Sister Lor guided the boy’s sisters in crafting learning materials from recycled items, while Camille, Rebecca, and Ruth trained his mother to use pre-loved therapy equipment donated by Little Eden. The family received essential support, including a wedge, roller, positioning block, physio mat, and standing frame.
By the end of the day, the young boy had a carefully designed home program—one that nurtured both his physical and educational needs, ensuring a brighter future filled with possibility.

💙 This is what The Paige Project is all about—having fun while making a real impact!
