We are so excited to have visiting us from Cape Town for a week next week.
She is holding one of her legendary Jivamukti Chakra Tuning classes on Friday 24th October from 6-8pm.
If you havenโ€™t been to one of these before you can expect a beautiful woven combination of movement, intention and vibration through asana, pranayama and chanting.
The aim of this practice is to harmonise the natural rhythms of the body and the mind and leave you feeling reset, clear headed and awakened.

With over seven years of teaching experience, Baiju is a passionate and dedicated yoga instructor trained in Hatha, Vinyasa, and Yin Yoga. Her yoga journey began with a 500-hour ISHTA Yoga training in 2015, and she has since deepened her knowledge with trainings in Yin (2017), Yoga Nidra (2020), and Myo Fascial Yin (2021).

For her, yoga is a work-in rather than a workout โ€” a lifelong journey that builds strength, calmness, and connection both on and off the mat ๐ŸŒธ

Through carefully sequenced classes, she encourages students to feel the full bodyโ€“mindโ€“soul connection, guiding them with a supportive and hands-on approach. Her teaching style is gentle yet challenging, inspiring students to explore deeper layers of themselves through asana, pranayama, and meditation.

Sueโ€™s yoga journey began in 2005, when a friend suggested it might help calm her busy mind. What started as curiosity soon grew into a deep love for both the practice and the community at Living Yoga. Her journey blossomed further when she completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training, strengthening her connection to yoga in every way ๐Ÿ’ซ

This week, Sue is honoured to give back through our Karma Yoga Community Class, sharing a gentle Yoga 101 practice. ๐ŸŒฟโœจ Meet Jenny โœจ๐ŸŒฟ

Jennyโ€™s yoga journey began unexpectedly when she joined a yoga retreat with friends โ€” despite never having practised before. Guided by her son Jamie through preparation classes, she quickly fell in love with the practice. ๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ

What started with the physical postures soon grew into a deep passion for yogaโ€™s rich history, philosophy, chanting, and the sense of community that kept her returning to the mat ๐ŸŒธ

In 2019, Jenny took a leap and completed her first yoga teacher training with Sarah Bentz โ€” an experience that changed her life profoundly. Since then, she has continued learning with Sarah and other inspiring teachers, each one enriching her journey in unique ways.

Jenny is already part of our regular schedule, but this week she joins our Karma Yoga Community Class as an act of seva โ€” giving back to the community she loves ๐Ÿ’›

Ismail began his yoga journey in 2017, initially to stay physically active โ€” but he quickly discovered the mental peace that yoga offers: a space where no one can call, message, or email you. ๐Ÿ“ต๐Ÿง˜

Through moving slowly and intentionally, with deep focus on the transitions between asanas, Ismail found that yoga not only strengthens the body but also gently slows the mind. ๐ŸŒธ

Now a 200-hour yoga teacher, his goal is to share the sense of freedom and levity that yoga brings into his own life, so that others can experience it too.

With many years of experience teaching Kundalini and Forrest Yoga, Alexia brings a wealth of therapeutic knowledge to her classes. She is also in the final stages of completing her 800-hour Yoga Therapy training through Sat Sangat Yoga Therapy โ€” a programme rooted in Ta**ra, Hatha, Kundalini, Yogic philosophy, and Western science.

As part of her training and the Thursday seva program at Living Yoga, Alexia will be offering Group Yoga Therapy sessions โ€” a powerful space for healing and transformation.

Her first class will be a general practice with a special focus on techniques to support the management of anxiety and depression. ๐ŸŒธ

Yoga is not neutral.
It is a path of ahimsa โ€” non-harming โ€”
and that commitment must extend to all beings, everywhere.

We come to our mats to remember our interconnection.
To root ourselves in presence, compassion, and truth.
To feel โ€” and then to act.

Ahimsa means we cannot look away from injustice.
It means standing against violence, occupation, and the silencing of oppressed voices.
It means standing with Palestine.
Because peace is not the absence of conflict โ€” it is the presence of justice.

Our yoga must live beyond the mat.
In our voices, in our choices, in our solidarity.

May our practice be a prayer and a protest.
A remembering and a rising.
