Dear Upcycle Supporters. As you know by now, Upcycle teaches sewing skills for free to those who are not employed. This enables them to learn and earn. Look at these cushion covers they made! Buying one of these means that you are supporting The Upcycle Foundation in helping reduce unemployment through making things from waste.

Plastic.
Recyclable?
Yes but in all parts of South Africa?
No!
Most of SA does not recycle plastic and it becomes a big problem in places to small for big industry to make money from waste. So most small towns are a mess with waste everywhere.

Is waste treasure.? NO!!
waste is a problem there is to much of it to be passed off as valuable, most of it has no recycle value or a way forward
it's a problem and recycling is not the solution.

It's a global crisis it's not just an African problem.

Today Upcycle was in komati, Mpumalanga, and we taught 25 people how to see waste differently and to upcycle it for a profit.
We helped these guys to start something that can have a small impact in thier community.
It's great and amazing for them but it is to small a difference and to little waste impacted.
We need bigger thinking
We need circular economy and we need companies producing responsibly.

We also need more really amazing Waste creatives teaching others to use this as a resource and not to just burn it.over the years we have created many small businesses and the recurse is free!!

Let's do more in our communities

Dear Upcycle Supporters. So many new things happening at Upcycle. Winnie has, for a long time, wanted to start an Upcycle Plant Shop with upcycled pots and other creative ways of planting. Until she found Heleen. Her heart is in it. Take a look at these pictures and make your way to The Upcycle Shop on 172 Long Rd, Greymont, to support this new venture.

Plants and their containers range from R20 for plants in little gray containers, to R200 in upcycled glass bottles, and so much in between. Enjoy!

In many of the personal development books I read there is usually someone saying volunteer for the job you love and you will get it.
i look back now at my business and am realising how incredibly true that that is.
Sibongile Shabalala join Upcycle as a part time volunteer to learn more sewing, 10 year at upcycle.
May volunteered to help and learn glass 10 years with upcycle.
Amanda volunteered to help Sibongile at her sewing center in swanville.
Gabi Theron always helped with crochet and sewing project from home.
Ancha volunteered for her gap year.
Kim volunteered
Lisha volunteered.
Rudolph Bessit
Petro Van Der Merwe

And many others that have come and gone.

Then I also just found out that anyone who comes asking May for a job he tells them if they volunteered id hire them... He figure it out before me. Lol

But let me tell you that this works. I have In most of my endeavours just built it. Just did it. Just made it happen and then everyone and everything shows up to support the proccess.

Many nights worrying about how I'm going to pay bills. How I'm going to support my dream of saving the planet and it's people, until I realised if you stop worrying and just build with complete trust and know that the universe supports you, it all just falls into place.

Go out there and volunteer your dream to the world and it just happens.
