Changes Addiction Rehab Joburg Medical aids pay for inpatient addiction treatment and we’ll obtain pre-authorisation for you. We have a family support group on Tuesdays at 6pm, all welcome.

Changes addiction rehab centres host inpatient and outpatient treatment as well as long term halfway houses. We are registered with the Department of Social Development and Department of Health, have a practice number and most medical aids will pay for inpatient treatment with us. Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Registered Counsellor based in Johannesburg. The Registered Counsellor will conduct individual and group counseling sessions, develop treatment plans, and provide assessments to support the recovery of clients managing addiction. They will work collaboratively with the rehabilitation team to deliver holistic care, participate in case reviews, and offer guidance on relapse prevention strategies. The role requires empathy, professionalism, and a commitment to the values of recovery and care.

Qualifications
- Strong counseling and therapeutic skills, including experience in individual and group therapy
- Ability to assess, develop, and implement client treatment and rehabilitation plans
- Knowledge of addiction recovery practices and relapse prevention strategies
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with clients, families, and teams
- Registration with the relevant professional body
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, or a related field
- Experience in addiction rehabilitation and knowledge of addiction recovery is highly advantageous

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Psychologist role based in Johannesburg. The Psychologist will provide:

- Psychological and therapeutic services (Didactic, individual, and group settings)

- Clinical assessments, reports and treatment plans.

- Offer therapeutic interventions tailored to the needs of clients in various stages of recovery

- Family therapy

- Inpatient and outpatient psychotherapy

Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated care is key to the role.

Qualifications

- Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)

- Registration with the Board of Healthcare Funders (BHF)

- Ad hoc availability after hours is essential

- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

- Excellent record-keeping and administrative abilities

- Experience in addiction treatment or rehabilitation is highly advantageous
