🚨 STOP! A Laser Pointer Is NOT a Toy for Children 🚨

Many people think laser pointers are harmless — but shining one into a child’s eyes can cause serious and permanent eye damage.

The eye acts like a powerful lens that focuses light directly onto the retina, the delicate tissue responsible for vision. Because laser beams are extremely concentrated, even a very brief exposure can cause a retinal burn, damage the macula (central vision area), and potentially lead to permanent vision loss.

Children are especially at risk because curiosity may cause them to look directly into the beam or shine it into a friend’s eyes while playing. Unfortunately, retinal damage from lasers can happen instantly — and in many cases the vision loss cannot be reversed.
