Last month, South African healthcare professionals (HCPs) completed more than 1.5 million clinical searches on EMGuidance. It’s a reminder of how often HCPs rely on clear, locally relevant information to make safe decisions in the moment of care.

It brings up an important consideration for any healthcare company.
When a HCP searches, does your product appear where they expect it to be? And once they find it, is the information clear enough that they can quickly understand its purpose and how to use it appropriately?

A Product Listing helps support that clarity. It ensures your medicine or device is:

• Easy to find when HCPs are actively searching
• Clear in its indication, formulation and safe use
• Available in the clinical workflow at the time decisions are made

Our focus is always on making clinical information easier to access and more reliable. If you’d like your product to show up where healthcare professionals are already looking, we’re happy to walk you through what’s possible. Just send a message or reply to this post and we’ll find a time that works for you.

Clinical decisions shouldn’t stall because information sits in different systems. Yet it happens all the time. Too many tabs. Too many logins. And it slows the care moment that matters most.

Over 120,000 healthcare professionals in South Africa already use EMGuidance because everything they need is in one place. Medicines, guidelines, practical tools they trust.

For medical schemes, it means your rules, formularies, and care pathways sit directly in that same workflow. Clearer guidance. Fewer avoidable co-payments. More consistent decisions across your network.

If you’re looking for a simpler, more reliable way to support providers at the point of care, you can learn more here.

On Friday evening, we were recognised as a finalist in the 2025 SAVCA Industry Awards.

For us, the recognition reflects the work happening quietly, every day, to support healthcare professionals with reliable, locally grounded clinical guidance at the point of care. And it also reflects the many hands involved. The collaborations, the clinical networks, and the team that shows up with care and consistency.

We also want to recognise the role of strategic private capital in enabling this journey. EMGuidance has been supported by ASISA, IDF Capital and the MultiChoice Innovation Fund. These forward thinking institutions have backed our platform through the natural challenges, long timelines and patience required to build meaningful digital health infrastructure in South Africa. Their support has helped us achieve distribution and scale that would otherwise have taken far longer. It is a reminder of the important role private capital plays in healthcare innovation in our country.

We are grateful to our partners, investors and clinical contributors for walking this path with us. And to our team, who approach the work with curiosity, responsibility and a clear sense of purpose.

Thank you to SAVCA for the recognition, and congratulations to all organisations acknowledged this year.

Our CEO, Dr Yaseen Khan, will be speaking at the Africa Tech Festival 2025 on the Opening Panel, From Code to Care: AI’s promise for Africa’s health.

EMGuidance has been on its AI journey quietly and quite intentionally. Working at the cold face of clinical decision-making has shaped how we think about technology. A clinical search happens on EMGuidance every 1.5 seconds. Each one reflects a healthcare professional trying to make the right call for a real patient. The responsibility in that moment is enormous, and it’s something we take seriously.

That perspective influences how we approach AI. The value sits in context, trust, and usability. Any technology we introduce needs to support clinical reasoning. It needs to feel steady and reliable at the exact moment a decision is made.

During the panel, Yaseen will share how EMGuidance is actively evolving its AI capabilities to strengthen clinical decision-making. This work is already underway, with development and testing focused on accuracy, safety, compliance, and fit within everyday clinical workflows.

Because EMGuidance already sits at the centre of local clinical data, we are not only applying AI inside our own platform. We are also putting in place the data and AI infrastructure that other systems can use to deliver safe, context-aware AI in South Africa. So the work is twofold: strengthening clinical decision-making on EMGuidance, and enabling third-party platforms to do the same responsibly. It’s about supporting physician autonomy across the whole ecosystem, not just within our walls.

If you are attending, we would love for you to join the discussion.

Caring for a child with a life-limiting condition is never straightforward. The symptoms can shift quickly. Some days are calm, others feel overwhelming. I think many of us want to feel just a bit more prepared for those moments, especially when comfort becomes the real priority.

Patch SA - Palliative Care for Children South Africa’s course on Symptom Management in Children’s Palliative Care walks through how to recognise, assess, and respond to the symptoms children commonly face. It’s practical. Gentle. And grounded in real clinical experience.

If you work with children or support families through serious illness, this might be one to save for yourself.

Our Head of e-Script Solutions, Kerry Scott, will be presenting at the ICPA 2025 Symposium in Durban this weekend.
