Savouring | A simple wellbeing exercise 🌿

Take a moment to pause and reflect.

Savouring means noticing and appreciating a positive experience - often something small, ordinary, and easily overlooked.

✨ Try this today:
• Describe one experience you savoured in the past 24 hours
• What did you notice? How did it feel in your body?
• If nothing comes to mind, choose one moment in the next 24 hours that you intentionally slow down to notice and appreciate

Savouring helps strengthen emotional awareness, gratitude, and nervous system regulation - gently training the brain to register safety, pleasure, and calm.

At Quiet Cadence, simple practices like this are woven into counselling to support resilience and emotional wellbeing.

Experiencing Kindness 🌿

Think back over the past day.

• What is one act of kindness YOU have done in the past 24 hours?
• What is one act of kindness you have seen SOMEONE ELSE do in the past 24 hours?

This exercise gently widens your focus. When days feel heavy or overwhelming, our attention naturally narrows to stress and threat. Noticing kindness - both given and witnessed - helps regulate the nervous system, restore perspective, and remind us that care and humanity still exist around us.

Small acts count. Quiet moments count.
Kindness doesn’t have to be grand to be meaningful.

Valentine’s Day isn’t only about romantic love.
It’s also about the relationship you have with yourself. 💗

In a world that often asks us to give more, do more, and be more, today is a gentle reminder to pause and check in with you.
Your mental health deserves care, compassion, and kindness - not just today, but every day.

Self-love isn’t indulgent.
It’s setting boundaries.
It’s resting when you’re tired.
It’s asking for support when things feel heavy.
It’s learning to listen to your body and your mind.

This Valentine’s Day, choose a quieter kind of love - one that nurtures your nervous system, honours your limits, and allows you to move at your own rhythm.

💗 Where calm finds its rhythm.

Sometimes it’s not about finding happiness.
It’s about struggling to see the happiness in what you already have.

When stress, burnout, chronic pressure, or illness take over, even good things can feel distant or muted. That doesn’t mean you’re ungrateful - it means your nervous system is tired.

At Quiet Cadence, we help you gently reconnect with steadier moments, realistic hope, and emotional balance - at your pace, without forcing positivity.

🌿 Support is available.

Here’s another gentle exercise to try this week 🌿

Each day, name 3 things that were funny, amusing, or made you smile.
They don’t have to be big or meaningful - just moments that lifted your mood, even briefly.

If today feels heavy, look back over the last week. A memory still counts.

🧠 Why this works (positive psychology):
Positive psychology shows that noticing small moments of joy helps balance the brain’s natural negativity bias. This doesn’t ignore stress or hardship - it simply widens your awareness so your nervous system learns that moments of light still exist alongside difficulty.

Laughter and amusement are powerful regulators. They soften tension, increase connection, and gently support emotional resilience.

✨ Want to learn how to use these practices intentionally for stress, burnout, or emotional regulation?

Here’s an exercise for your week 🌿

Each day, pause and name 3 good things that happened.

Not three things you’re grateful for.
Just three good things — small, ordinary, or fleeting.

A kind message.
A moment of calm.
Something that went a little better than expected.

This practice helps your brain notice balance, not perfection.

Try it daily. Write it down. Say it out loud.
Let the good be counted.
