💥Anxiety & Stress💥

Have you experienced the deep relaxation that just happens during a Reflexology treatment?
Research shows that the electrical activity of the brain changes the present alpha waves to beta waves in most clients.

👣What does this mean?👣

〰️〰️ Alpha waves quieten the thoughts that arise and promote a meditative state. They help mental focus, alertness and calmness.
〰️〰️ Beta waves help the brain to focus on tasks with specific goals such as planning. Combined with Alpha waves and deep relaxation, they support letting go of this brain activity.

This promotes mental clarity and focus after a treatment.

❤️Conclusion❤️
Physical and mental relaxation is deep during a Reflexology treatment, AND, without trying, it just happens for most of us, if not everyone!
During a Reflexology treatment you are ‘gone’ but still ‘present’, deeply relaxed 🙏

Did you know your body has its very own in-built de-stressing mechanism? 😱

It’s called the ✨ VAGUS NERVE ✨

The vagus nerve is the most influential nerve in our parasympathetic nervous system, which oversees a vast array of crucial bodily functions, including control of mood, immune response, digestion, breathing and heart rate. It is the primary pathway that your gut and brain communicate through!

When we stimulate the vagus nerve, it sends a message to our bodies that it’s time to relax, de-stress and go into repair and recover mode 🛌

There are a number of different things we can do to stimulate our vagus nerve such as:

✨ Singing🎤
✨ Cold showers 💦
✨ Yoga and exercise 🏃‍♀️
✨ Deep breathing and meditation
✨ Social connectedness 👭
✨ Probiotics
✨ Laugh often 😂
✨ Try acupuncture 🛌

Occipitofrontalis is a long and wide muscle of the scalp, spanning from the eyebrows to the occipital bones.

The function of occipitofrontalis muscle is to elevate the eyebrows and wrinkle the forehead skin with its frontal part, and to retract the scalp with its occipital part.

Pain in the occipitofrontalis is usually found in either the frontalis or the occipitalis. In the frontalis, the pain is usually in the forehead; in the occipitalis, there can be moderate pain at the back of the skull.

Something we need to know about our bodies:
1. If your throat itches, scratch your ear:
By pressing the nerves in the ear, an immediate reflex is generated in the throat which produces spasms and relieves discomfort.
2. If you have a blunt nose:
Press your palate and top of your nose. Touch the palate with your tongue strongly and hold your nose under the fringe with a finger. This allows the secretions to move and you can breathe.
3. When you have acidity you sleep on your left side:
This allows to create an angle between the stomach and the esophagus, so that the acids cannot pass into the throat.
4. When you have a toothache rub ice on your hand:
Pass the piece of ice through the "v" shaped area that occurs between the thumb and the index finger opposite the palm. This reduces pain by 50% as this sector is connected to the pain receptors of the face.
5. When you get burned, press the wound with a finger:
After cleaning the affected area, apply hand pressure on the burn, as this allows it to return to the initial temperature and prevents blisters from appearing. (for small burns)
6. When running, breathe when you support your left foot:
This will prevent you from feeling itchy chest, because if you breathe when you support your right foot, you cause pressure on your liver.
7. If your nose bleeds, apply pressure with your finger:
If you step back you can choke on your blood, so it's best to squeeze your finger on the side of your nose where you're bleeding.
8. To control your heart rate when you're nervous:
Put your thumb in your mouth and blow, this will help your heart stop beating so fast from breathing.
9. To relieve a headache when drinking very icy water:
By drinking something very frozen, the palate cools down and the brain interprets it. This is why you should place your tongue on the palate to return it to its normal temperature.
10. Prevent vision impairment when you're in front of the PC:
When you place your sight on a nearby object like a computer, the sight gets tired and fails. For this, close your eyes, contract the body and hold your breath for a moment. Then relax everything. Holy remedy.
11. Wake up to your sleeping hands and feet by moving your head:
When one arm or hand falls asleep, turn your head from side to side and see how the feeling passes in less than 1 minute, as the upper limbs fall asleep, due to pressure on the neck. In the meantime, whether it's a leg or a foot, just walk for a few seconds.
12. Easy method to hold your breath underwater: Before diving, do many quick and strong breaths to make the blood acid disappear, as this is what causes the sensation of drowning.
13. Memorize texts at night:
Anything you read before bed, you will remember it more easily

Suboccipitals are 4 pairs of small muscles, that connect the top of the cervical spine with the base of the skull. The suboccipitals are important for head extension and rotation and posture

Tightness or tension in these muscles can also cause headaches.

Your trapezius muscles play a very important role in helping you move your head, neck, arms and shoulders. It also stabilizes your spine so you can stand up straight.

The upper trapezius also helps to elevate the shoulder blades.

The middle segment brings the shoulder blades back, and the lower trapezius helps bring the shoulder blades down.

Some symptoms of tight or injured trapezius muscles can include, stiffness in the upper back,
shoulder pain or stiffness, neck pain and tingling/numbness in one or both arms

ARTERIAL NETWORK ❤️

This plastinate shows the arterial network of the whole body along with the bones and ligaments.

Our cardiovascular system is significantly influenced by body position. For example, by getting up from lying down, about half a liter of blood flows into the lower half of the body and into the veins of the legs due to gravity.

This causes blood pressure to drop, to which the body responds very quickly. The heart beats faster and stronger to pump more blood and the small arteries contract to increase resistance to the blood flow.

What are the benefits of reflexology?

Reflexology may help you feel less stressed, more relaxed, and more energized. But reflexologists know the benefits might go deeper when facing certain health issues.

Some people with medical conditions find that they feel less pain and discomfort if they have less stress, and reflexology may help with that.

🔈 FASCIA OF UPPER LIMB

Anterior wall and floor of axilla.

A. Axillary fascia forms the floor of the axilla and is continuous with the pectoral fascia.

B. The pectoral fascia surrounds the pectoralis major, forming the anterior layer of the anterior axillary wall. The clavipectoral fascia extends between the coracoid process of the scapula, the clavicle, and the axillary fascia.

The fascia of the pectoral region is attached to the clavicle and sternum. The pectoral fascia invests the pectoralis major and is continuous inferiorly with the fascia of the anterior abdominal wall. The pectoral fascia leaves the lateral border of the pectoralis major and becomes the axillary fascia , which forms the floor of the axilla (compartment deep to skin of the armpit). Deep to the pectoral fascia and pectoralis major, another fascial layer, the clavipectoral fascia , descends from the clavicle, enclosing the subclavius and then pectoralis minor, becoming continuous inferiorly with the axillary fascia.

The part of the clavipectoral fascia between the pectoralis minor and subclavius, the costocoracoid membrane , is pierced by the lateral pectoral nerve, which primarily supplies the pectoralis major. The part of the clavipectoral fascia inferior to the pectoralis minor, the suspensory ligament of the axilla , supports the axillary fascia and pulls it and the overlying skin upward during abduction of the arm, forming the axillary fossa (armpit).

The scapulohumeral muscles that cover the scapula, and form the bulk of the shoulder, are also ensheathed by deep fascia. The deltoid fascia descends over the superficial surface of the deltoid from the clavicle, acromion, and scapular spine. From the deep surface of the deltoid fascia, numerous septa (connective tissue partitions) pe*****te between the fascicles (bundles) of the muscle. Inferiorly, the deltoid fascia is continuous with the pectoral fascia anteriorly and the dense infraspinous fascia posteriorly. The muscles that cover the anterior and posterior surfaces of the scapula are covered superficially with deep fascia, which is attached to the margins of the scapula and posteriorly to the spine of the scapula.
