*Leonard (aged 52), had long-term, severe lower-back and left leg pain. After his first BSR session his coccyx was burning and the leg pain was worse. Over the next month he experienced good and bad days, while the pain decreased to some extent. However, he decided that he would prefer a quicker solution through spinal surgery, which his orthopedic surgeon had suggested months before. The surgery was booked. At the pre-op check the day before, the surgeon informed Leonard that surgery was out of the question, and demanded to know what on earth he had been doing to be so improved. When told about BSR, the surgeon advised him to “keep it up”. Soon after that he was able to drive again. After 8 more sessions, eight months later, Leonard was fit and pain-free, and once more able to enjoy his favorite activities - hiking and cycling.

Effects of Lower Back Tension on Internal Organs:
An often-quoted statistic is that lower back pain will affect 80 percent of adults at some stage of their lives. However, most people are unaware that the pain is only one of the effects of tension locked into the lumbar spine. While body stress remains stored in the lower back, the pressure on the nerves may undermine, or disturb, the normal functioning of the areas and organs they supply. Thus, body stress may lead to digestive problems such as constipation or diarrhoea, bladder complaints, sexual problems, incontinence etc. A very common complaint is severe menstrual cramps and pain, which often cease when the lower back compression is released.

Q: SINCE YOU WORKED ON MY LOWER BACK I HAVE HAD DIARRHOEA? WHY IS THAT?
A: The nerves from the lower back have a direct effect on the bowel, bladder, colon and lower organs so, by releasing tension in the lower back, the nerve pathways to the bowel and digestive system are stimulated. Elimination is vital for restored function. If compression is lifted off a nerve, it can occasionally take some time for that nerve to restore to normal self-regulation. Continuing the BSR process will reduce the irritation and assist these effects to normalise. Read more FAQ’s here: https://bodystressrelease.com/help/faq/

Celeste, aged thirteen, had a two-year history of headaches, nausea, vomiting and vision problems. For the past three months the intense headaches and migraines had been almost constant. She had been taken to a number of specialists, and was currently on a beta blocker and pain medication. The medical bills for the three months added up to a huge amount.
At her first BSR session, the practitioner pointed out that the muscles in Celeste’s back were rigid and in spasm. The mother was sceptical, ‘But that’s her lower back. It’s her headaches that are the problem’. The practitioner explained how tension in the lumbar spine has an impact on the whole spine and the cranium, via the long muscles that extend from the sacrum to the skull. On Celeste’s second visit, three days later, there were hugs all round. Mother and daughter excitedly reported that she had experienced no migraines at all, and only one mild headache. By the third session, there had been no recurrence of pain. Three-and-a-half weeks later, at a follow-up session, Celeste said she felt ‘brilliant’.
