Active mobilisation is one of the most powerful tools in rehabilitation — especially for older adults. 🏡💪
Our mobile physiotherapy service brings therapy into the home, helping patients practise real-life movements like standing from a chair, reaching overhead, and improving balance.

Benefits include:
• Improved strength and flexibility
• Better balance and fall prevention
• Greater independence with daily tasks
• Increased confidence in movement

Therapy in a familiar environment encourages freedom of movement, engagement in recovery, and allows family members to support progress.
Our goal is simple: restore movement, build resilience, and help every patient feel capable at home.

Quality physiotherapy care doesn’t always have to happen in a clinic. 🏡

Our Riley Physiotherapists mobile service brings professional, compassionate treatment directly to your home!
Making recovery easier, safer, and more comfortable, especially for elderly loved ones or those with limited mobility.

By working in familiar surroundings, we help patients rebuild strength, improve balance, and regain independence with confidence.
Because sometimes the best place to heal… is at home. 💙

Thank you to Dr Moodley, Rajah & Reddy (BMR Orthos) for a lovely dinner and sharing their recent case studies on foot and ankle injuries.

Tendon problems are common, particularly as we get older. As we age, tendons naturally undergo changes that make them less strong and less able to cope with strain. This happens because the building blocks of the tendon change over time.

Put simply, the tendon tissue becomes less well organised and less resilient than it once was. As a result, tendons are not as good at handling stress and load as they were in younger years.

Because of these changes, tendons in older adults can become painful — or even tear — during activities that don’t seem especially demanding. Simple movements such as stepping off a curb, reaching overhead, or doing everyday household tasks can sometimes trigger pain. https://www.rileyphysios.co.za/tendon-problems-as-we-age/ - click on this link to read more.
