You may notice that something looks a little different on this page today. 🌈

After many years of laughter, imagination, storytelling and brave little voices, 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐨𝐱 is slowly growing into its next chapter.

What started years ago as playful Chatterbox Dramatots sessions with small groups of children has grown into something deeper — a place where play, imagination, communication and emotional development come together.

Over time I have realised that what happens inside our sessions is more than just drama play. It is a gentle, experiential approach that helps children grow in:

• confidence
• communication
• imagination
• emotional awareness

At the heart of it all is still the same belief:

𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.

Children learn best when they feel safe, seen and free to explore who they are.

So while the look may be a little new, the heart remains exactly the same.

In ’n Chatterbox DramaPlay-sessie gebruik ons stories, beweging, verbeelding en ritme — en dit help kinders om taal, emosies en selfvertroue te ontwikkel.

𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡 🌈

Last night Sanel Lunderstedt a mommy of one of my old Chatterbox maatjies sent me a video from her son’s school.

His name is Reghard.

When he first came to Chatterbox at The Growing Tree Learning Academy he was a very shy little boy. Many lessons he sat quietly on my lap, sometimes even crying because everything felt a little overwhelming.

Slowly, week by week, something started changing.

Through stories, play, acting out poems and exploring big feelings in a safe space, he started finding his voice.

This little video was taken years ago when he started copying my lessons at home — pretending to be the teacher.

And last night his mommy shared something beautiful with me…

Reghard is now in Trio Primêr Grade 2, confidently doing speeches in front of his whole class. The school even filmed their speech group for social media — and when I watched it I realised there were several old Chatterbox maatjies in the group.

Moments like this remind me why Chatterbox DramaPlay™ exists.

Because sometimes all a child needs is a place where they feel safe enough to discover:

✨ 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐨𝐱 𝐛𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐧…

Around 𝟐𝟎𝟏𝟏, in 𝐋𝐲𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐠, I often walked my baby daughter in her pram.

While I walked, a thought kept returning to me…

Children don’t learn best when they are corrected.
They learn best when they feel safe, seen, and free to explore.

That idea stayed with me for a long time.

One morning on one of those walks I quietly said a prayer and asked:
“If this dream is something I should really pursue, please give me a sign.”

For some reason, the sign I asked for was a star.

Later that same day, while telling a friend about this dream, she suddenly started laughing and pointed at my elbow.
Stuck to my arm were a purple craft star that had somehow attached themselves to me without me noticing.

And in that moment I just knew.

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥.

Years later, that little seed grew into something very special.

At 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐨𝐱, children step through “𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐛𝐨𝐰 𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡” into a world of imagination where:

✨ Confidence grows
✨ Communication develops
✨ Big feelings are explored safely
✨ And every child gets to shine in their own unique way

Because here, children are not asked to perform or to be perfect.

They are simply invited to be themselves.

My hart is diep dankbaar vir skole wat die waarde van ons program en die verskil wat dit aan die kinders maak sien. 😍 Dit was 'n voorreg om julle leerders te kon bereik en beleef. Elke skool is besonders en het sy eie sprankel! A secure child is a powerful force.

Because security isn’t just safety —
it’s the foundation for everything else they’ll grow into.

A child who feels anchored in themselves doesn’t need to shrink to fit in.
They don’t unravel at disapproval or get pulled off course by louder personalities.
They carry themselves with a quiet steadiness —
a sense of worth that isn’t earned through pleasing or perfection, but simply known.

That kind of inner stability doesn’t appear by chance.
It’s shaped in homes where children are heard,
where mistakes aren’t met with fear,
where boundaries are clear and predictable,
where repair is part of the rhythm,

The world will challenge them soon enough — question their worth, their voice, their place.

Home shouldn’t do the same.

Home is where confidence is built quietly —
in the way we listen when they speak,
in the way we notice effort as much as outcome,
in the way we remind them that who they are matters more than what they do.

Because every word we say becomes the voice they carry inside. And that voice can either echo doubt… or remind them they belong.

Let home be the place that teaches them how to believe in themselves — so the world never convinces them otherwise. ❤️

Ek baie beïndruk met Toys and Beyond by wie ek Woensdag ons 2025 Drama Tots belonging bestel het en vandag reeds deur The Courier Guy CC ontvang het! 🎁🎉 Nou hoe moet ek dit 'n geheim hou tot ons laaste klassie toe⁉️🙆🏼‍♀️

Die maatjies se vordering sal in die laaste week gevier word met 'n bederfie wat noukeurig uitgesoek is om hulle in die vakansie tot verdere verbeelding, verbale kommunikasie en hoë hoogtes te inspireer. 🐸 Daar is die leidraad dan nou ook sommer! 😉🤫🥰

Nes die naam Toys and Beyond sê, bevat die belonging 'n 'open ended toy' - 'n Montessori konsep wat presies inlyn is met die doel van die Chatterbox Drama Tots program: holistiese kinderontwikkeling. Jou kind is 'n kosbare 'work-in-progress' ... Tog is elkeen se vordering tot op die punt, iets om te vier!

Elke klein mensie se vermaaklike bydrae tot ons klassies die jaar het tot mekaar se groot genot gelei. 😆 Daar is gereeld gejil en gelag! Ons klasse is alles behalwe sag. 😅 Tog het ons ook geleer luister en so ontdek dat elkeen iets spesiaal het: Net jy kan JY wees! 🌟

Die datums vir elke skooltjie se afsluiting sal vroeg in die eerste week van November deurgegee word. Intussen geniet ons elke les wat ons nog saam het die jaar. Veral die maatjies wat grootskool toe gaan. 🥹 Wat 'n voorreg om van julle al vir 3+ jaar te sien groei en groei 💚 Mag julle elkeen altyd jou unieke "TA-DA!", soos in ons liedjie, met jou saamdra as lewenshouding. 💃🏽🕺🏽🎉
