Prostate cancer
Did you know that a study published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology reported that men diagnosed with low grade prostate cancer that followed a low omega6 and high omega3 diet, had a 15% decrease in the cancer marker Ki-67 index?

The diet they followed contained more omega3 rich diet sources (pilchards, sardines, salmon, etc) and drinking an omega3 supplement AND
By decreasing the omega6 content of their diet (less cookies, chips, processed food, fried food)

Healthy eating is very important, not only as treatment of disease, but also as prevention🥳

What do you think about intermittent fasting?

The one meal a day diet trend (OMAD) is getting more popular, let's look at what studies showed:
1. 100% of vitamins and mineral needs can't be supplied with a single meal a day, leading to nutrient deficiencies
2. Signs and symptoms: clients complain of feeing bloated, tired and not mentally focused.
3. Increase in blood pressure
4. Increase in total and LDL cholesterol
5. Deficiencies in protein
6. 30% increase in all cause mortality
7. 83% increased risk in cardiovascular motality
8. Blood sugar imbalances

Eating variety diet, like the Mediterranean and Dash diet, is a much better longterm sustainable option🥳

Eggs cost about R3 per egg (R89 for tray of 30eggs) and contain a lot of nutritious componds🍳
They are among some of the cheapest (if not the cheapest) sources of protein and by adding them to a starch, your meal becomes low GI, keeping you fuller for longer😁

Did you know?
=Egg white contains 3.6g protein in a large egg
=Egg yolk contains 2.7g protein, fat soluble vitamins (vit A, D, E, K), choline (brain health) and carotenoids (lutein and zeaxanthin)
So in order to receive the best benefit, eat the entire egg😉
