Celery and Celeriac leaves contain a variety of vitamins and mineral salts.They are reported to have a hormone which has an effect similar to that of insulin.Celery also
stimulates the digestion,and is good for gout and rheumatism.The celery plant was originally a medicinal plant.All parts of celery plant are edible,either raw or cooked.The leaves are as tasty as the stalks,and even the seeds have the same nutty flavor.
It is an excellent seasoning for diabetics and for anyone on a salt-reduced diet.

Celery Sticks with cheese
Clean celery sticks and choose long and flat ones.Leave on some leaves.Press cream cheese through sieve,add some milk and mix until smooth and fluffy. The mixture should remain thick.Add freshly chopped celery leaves according to test or until mixture looks fairly green.Either serve as a dip with celery sticks or arrange small heaps of cream cheese on the lower white base of the celery sticks.

Crushed grape leaves can be made into a paste, adding a little bit of grape juice and honey then spread on the skin and leave for about 20 to 30 minutes.

Mint has many therapeutic properties.
For tummy problems, make an infusion to ease indigestion and stomach cramps. Add a few fresh mint leaves to a cup of boiling water and steep for 10 minutes. Add honey if preferred.
As to make a refreshing and cleansing facial wash, add a handful of bruised mint leaves to a pan of cool water. Leave for one hour and then chill in the refrigerator. Use as desired.
Mint will keep your breath fresh by chewing some mint leaves.
Mint will stimulate your appetite by drinking a cup of mint tea half an hour before meals.

Elderflower infusion
Cover half teaspoon of elderflower with one cup of water. Allow to infuse for 15 minutes,then add a teaspoon of honey and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.Sip the tea slowly and enjoy.
Drink up to 3 cups a day for two weeks,then stop for a week. Repeat the process for a few months before the pollen count start to rise.

Feverfew is a medicinal herb that comes from the same family as daisies.
People take Feverfew for migraines, some digestive disorders, fever, arthritis, toothaches, insect bites and menstrual problems.
Feverfew may also act as a blood thinner by inhibiting the activity of platelets and preventing blood clotting.
Ask you doctor, before taking Feverfew if you take blood thinners, any other prescription drugs or supplements.

High levels of stress can lead to inflammation and possibly swollen gums. Here is what helps me a lot.
Wash the teeth and floss.Make a paste from half a teaspoon of clove powder, half teaspoon of turmeric powder and enough olive oil to make a paste.Spread the paste all over the gums, and leave it for at least 5 minutes. Rinse the mouth with rosemary or thyme tea. Repeat before going to bed or 2 times per day for few days.

How do we know detoxification is necessary?

Often the body will be telling us, in the form of certain symptoms, that it is working under a heavy load of waste products.

The systems most commonly affected by excess toxicity are the nervous system and the immune system. Signs such as fatigue, headaches, poor concentration, irritability, depression, acid reflux, joint inflammation and stiffness, unexplained weigh gain and recurrent inflammation are common.

The best way to detoxify your system is with the use of certain group of herbs combined in a form of tea(cleansing tea).
At the same time as taking the herbs, it is important to keep the diet clean and light.

Well, when you visit a herbalist for the first time you will have a consultation that takes 45 min to an hour. In this interview I will try to learn more about you, your lifestyle, diet and any medication or supplements you take. We will discuss what it is you want help with and also what you are hoping to achieve from this visit. I use a holistic approach to illnesses, treating the underlying causes of a condition than the symptoms alone. My physical diagnosis will be based on determining the client's constitution, palpation, pulse, tongue and observation. I suggest dietary changes, lifestyle adjustments, recommend herbal supplements, and I will formulate a treatment plan, using whichever herbs and preparation to suit your individual need to support healing and balance.

2 teaspoons Lemon Balm
1 teaspoon Lemongrass
1 teaspoon Lemon Verbena
Pour a cup of boiling water over the herbs.Let it stand for five to ten minutes,then stir well.Strain and add a touch of honey if liked.
