Today, PHC joins the global community in raising awareness and promoting understanding of mental health for all ages β from pre-teens and teens to adults and older individuals.
Because mental wellbeing is a lifelong journey, not a single moment.
---
π‘ Why awareness matters
Around 1 in 8 people worldwide live with a mental health condition.
In South Africa, an estimated 1 in 3 adults will experience a mental health challenge in their lifetime.
Globally, stress, anxiety, and depression remain leading causes of lost quality of life and work productivity.
For people aged 11 and up, life transitions, social pressure, trauma, and daily stressors can all impact mental wellbeing β but early support leads to better outcomes.
