When a woman qualifies in paediatric healthcare, entire communities feel the impact.

Across the country, talented young women are completing degrees in paediatric nursing, medicine, therapy, and research. They’ve done the work. They’ve earned their place. But outstanding fees are still holding many back from graduating and stepping into the roles our children urgently need.

🌟 Keynote Speaker Spotlight: Professor L. Rudo Mathivha🌟

We are deeply honoured to welcome Professor L. Rudo Mathivha as our keynote speaker at the 2025 AFPN Gala Luncheon & AGM - a woman whose legacy has shaped the face of paediatric and critical care medicine in South Africa.

Prof. Mathivha is the first Black South African woman to qualify in Critical Care Medicine, a Senior Specialist at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, and an Adjunct Professor whose influence spans clinical excellence, mentorship, and national health leadership.

Her work in paediatric intensive care, antimicrobial stewardship, and health technology has not only saved countless young lives but also paved the way for generations of African clinicians.

With numerous accolades, including the Forbes Africa Woman Award for Academic Excellence (2021) and the Doctor Humphrey Zokufa Lifetime Service Achievement Award (2025) -Prof. Mathivha embodies brilliance, courage, and service.
