With 3 kids, I constantly feel like I’m not doing enough…
Not giving each one enough attention, not teaching them enough, not spending enough time with them. It’s a constant battle in my mind.
And that’s exactly why I’m so grateful for the husband the Lord gave me — someone who carries this journey with me, supports me in every way, and makes the load feel lighter.
I’ve come to realise something powerful:
It’s not always what we say that teaches our children… it’s what we do.
About a year ago, my husband and I made a big decision — to change our lifestyle. To eat better, to move our bodies, to get stronger. Not for weight loss, but to build healthy habits, to still enjoy life, and to respect the bodies God gave us.
What a journey it’s been… and we’re finally starting to see the results.
But the most rewarding part?
Watching it impact our children.
Helené, our 9-year-old, is growing so quickly. With that comes new changes, new appetites (she definitely takes after her mom 😅), and new awareness. We never wanted to pressure her or make her feel like she needed to diet.
And then today… she asked if she could start exercising with us.
That moment felt like everything.
Hendrik created a simple exercise chart for her — something fun, with small goals she can work toward each week. She’s now in the kitchen with me too, learning about food, about balance, about how our bodies work.
And it hit me again…
Lead by example.
Our children are watching everything. Far more than we realise.
Be intentional.
Be present.
Be the example you want them to follow.
Because they are always learning — even when we’re not speaking 🤍
