What a wonderful way to end off Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

CANSA The Cancer Association of South Africa hosted their High Tea at the Heartfelt Arena in Pretoria last Wednesday, 29 October 2025.

Over 1200 ladies, and a few brave gents, came together in solidarity for breast cancer awareness. We were spoilt with songs by Juanita du Plessis and listened to inspiring talks by amazing people.

Andri Visser Orthotics and Prosthetics and I had the privilege of meeting

Even though October is over, lets continue creating awareness around breast cancer and early detection!

Reach for Recovery does an amazing work in the community. The volunteers are all breast cancer survivors with heartrending stories of their own.

These ladies tirelessly raise funds and support patients who are going through the same ordeal that they did.

Most of the bras that are donated to them, by the public, are NOT mastectomy bras .

Let's pull together to provide them with the bras they really need to help state patients who can't afford anything.

Our orthotist clients are collecting gently used mastectomy bras from their patients who want to donate their older bras, when they get new ones.

These will then be given to the local Reach for Recover branch and, in turn, be gifted to mastectomy patients who, otherwise, could not afford one.

Of course, used breast forms are also most welcome :)

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is keeping us very busy - AND I LOVE IT!!

There is such a feeling of solidarity and passion at events such as this weekends Fun Run. Young and old stand united in support of those fighting the fight. Sadly, we all know of someone who has had to go through the ordeal of breast cancer: 1 in 8 women get breast cancer.

Andri Visser Orthotics and Prosthetics practices in the Pretoria East area and is passionate about helping ladies restore their feminine profile and confidence by supplying and fitting wonderfully comfortable breast forms and beautiful mastectomy bras.

These products can be claimed from your medical aid, through oncology benefits. If you don't have a medical aid, Andri can help you too.
