Celebrating Professional Growth at Juana Maria

At Juana Maria Frail Aged Home, we are always proud when our team members take the initiative to upskill themselves for the benefit of our residents and the home as a whole.

A big congratulations to Gabi Khubeka, our dedicated social worker, on her attendance and certificate of completion for the two-day course on Nutrition, Counselling & Support presented by Vuna Seeds & Projects.

Continuous learning helps us grow stronger as a team and ensures we provide the best possible care to our residents. Gabi will be sharing the valuable knowledge she gained with our Kitchen and Frail Care teams, strengthening our holistic approach to resident wellbeing.

Well done, Gabi! We are proud of your commitment and passion.

Young Hearts in Service

Earlier this month, on 13 February, we had the privilege of welcoming three Grade 11 learners from Hamilton School to Juana Maria Frail Aged Home as part of their Life Orientation community service programme.

Jandré Jones, Morgan Massyn and Laurissa Brits spent time at the Home lending a helping hand and assisting where needed. We truly appreciate the willingness of young people to give of their time and energy in service of others.

Community service forms such an important bridge between generations, and it is always encouraging to see learners stepping forward to make a positive contribution in their community.

Thank you to Hamilton Preparatory School for encouraging a culture of service, and to these learners for their time and effort. We wish them every success with their studies and the year ahead.

The Hurters are truly woven into the history of Juana Maria. Over the years, Pieter and Margaret built not only a meaningful connection with our home, but also left their mark on the wider Ladysmith community. Though Pieter is no longer with us, the legacy he and Margaret built together continues to be remembered and appreciated.

On Friday we were truly blessed with a beautiful surprise from Beth MacLarty 🌸

Beth kindly gifted us the most stunning flowers, which we placed in our reception area, where they now welcome residents and visitors with their vibrant colours and lovely fragrance as they enter Juana Maria Frail Aged Home. Such a wonderful gesture has brought so much joy and warmth to our home.

Thank you, Beth, for your thoughtful and generous gift. You have certainly added a special sparkle to Juana Maria Frail Aged Home!
