1. They offer too much
You don't need to have 100 options to make lots of sales. You just need to stand behind what you do.
Offering loads of options, 20 different styles and huge menus does the opposite of what you think.
You think youāre being helpful to your customers. Youāre actually overwhelming them.
2. They do too much
Because you started your business yourself you think you have to do everything: Cooking, Sales, Cleaning, Ordering, Strategizing
You donāt. Handling ALL of those decisions leaves no room for thinking about your business. Youāre exhausted from trying to cram it all in. You need systems to support and delegate your smaller decisions. This will free up brain capacity for the larger ones.
3. They donāt know how much gross profit each item makes
Gross profit keeps the cogs of the business turning. You need to know that each item is making enough to support the business so that you can pay yourself, keep going and grow. If you donāt know what that number is you will probably undercharge and run out of money.
4. They donāt have a strategy for growing
āI will get more people to buyā is NOT a growth strategy.
If you want to reach more customers, add products and increase sales you have to first understand who youāre selling to, and what your business can maintain. You also have to be prepared to say no to anything that isnāt aligned. That is where most food entrepreneurs crash.
