The most misunderstood and overprescribed medication must surely be (PPIs), which your dr might tell you are coating your stomach (which is a blatant lie)

Your stomach acid is first-line immune defence - if it has enough acid, it will kill anything that doesn't belong there.

Stomach acid also breaks down food into it's parts like vitamins, mineral and amino acids. That's what we're able to absorb or use, not the actual meat and potatoes 🤨 so no stomach acid = no minerals = no immunity, right there and further down the line 🫩

‼️Your immune system doesn’t just “switch on” when you get sick.

It relies on consistent, daily support - and minerals play a key role in keeping it functioning properly.

⏰️Think of it as building strength over time, not reacting when something goes wrong.

One of the best things you can do for improving sleep is to see the daylight before you see your screens

Yes I said it. And yes, it's more difficult in winter...

But surely it's worth trying?

📈Testing your 1st thing in the morning, too close to a meal, when you are sick, or when you are stressed, is not giving you an accurate measurement on which to base a medication protocol

🦋 tests are so narrow, they don't even come close to knowing what's really going on. And no-one considers that your thyroid is just 1 part of your whole unbalanced body...it may not need to be medicated - it may be dying of starvation

📝 Context is everything and it cannot be stressed enough

Don't be frightened into *unnecessary* prescription drugs. By all means, take what you really need! Thank goodness for western medicine that gives us back our lives. That's not the kind of medication this post is about...

On Saturday we ventured north over the disastrous bridge ... excursions always warrant treats 🤭, so we ended up at Indulgenz for their ◼️ ice-cream 🍧

🟢🟢If you've never eaten it, you won't know that it turns your 💩 the brightest green 😵🥴

Well, you can just imagine the breakfast table convo in my house 😂🙆‍♂️

But outside of the immediate confines, I had to take my questions and insights to Chat Gpt, because conversations about body parts and body functions remain weirdly taboo in a society in which almost anything goes....

There's a lot of data that can be gathered from observing p*e, p**p, sweat, saliva and snot; serious clues as to what the body is doing that we cannot see... a part of the love language that we have forgotten how to translate 😟

There's should be no shame in observing these messages, and they should be shared, in full detail (but not with hard evidence 😁) when you meet with your Healthcare provider

I promise no reciprocal stories if it comes up in a session 🤭

🗓 This has been a week 😵‍💫 some derailed plans, some errors of judgement, some friendship drama... each one on their own - not a lot; all in 3 days, a whole lot🥵

The ability to move through these unsettling things that happen in our lives is a 🦸‍♂️

And, (you might want to sit down for this) staying angry, frustrated and off-balance *is a choice* (whether you admit it or not)

📝 do not beat yourself up over yesterday. What good can it it do? Learning to lay down the anger and frustration (without eating it away 🫣) is how we learn and grow

Choose your feelings. Yes, I said it. Try it before you scoff...

🥹Two long weekends and a disaster of a short week in between. What will the next 10 days look like for you 🧐
Most people will: 🥣 overdo it, 🙆 feel worse and get to May 4th even more exhausted than before 🫩
🪟 But this is actually a window;
A chance to interrupt the pattern your body’s been stuck in.
You don't have the energy for a big overhaul, and it's not neccessary anyway ~with a few small, intentional shifts your body can and will respond
So, if you’ve been:
• waking up tired
• running on empty, and
• feeling like your system just isn’t switching off, this is an opportunity to focus on what your body needs to not be that depleted anymore 💡

🫂This post is dedicated to my friend Nancy, with a shout-out to Ricki and the Purple Hippo 🦛

🧶Women who engage in 'granny hobbies' live longer. A Helainki study estimated 8 years longer ~ and those extra years are good ones!!

Knitting, crochet, beading, tapestry, embroidery....these activities help calm the nervous system by lowering stress and promoting a meditative, focused state through repetitive movement 🧘‍♀️

They also build confidence by creating a sense of purpose, routine, and visible accomplishment 👕
Mentally, such hobbies keep the brain active, supporting memory, attention, and cognitive flexibility as women age

Together, these effects show that simple, creative pastimes can be deeply therapeutic. emotionally grounding, and beneficial for long- term health‼️

Woke up feeling rubbish this morning? Same as yesterday? Expecting more of the same tomorrow??

The way you feel is not from what you did yesterday 🧐 it's from what you've been doing consistently...

🫩 late nights 🫩social media overstimulation
🫩 lack of joyful movement 🫩no real connection
🫩 mindless eating

🧱IT BUILDS QUIETLY

🫟 You're feeling the result of a pattern. And your body has been adjusting to that pattern all this time. It gets your attention when it can't do it anymore

Most people look for a symptom to fix. *You* should be looking for what's been repeating 🔨🔨🔨🔨🔨

At some point you have to ask:
👉 What if nothing has worked… because no-one has actually understood what my body is doing?

Your body isn’t random and it’s not failing.
It’s responding.

🫟 There is always a pattern.

Most people just never get shown how to see it.

Junk food is not just about what this meal or snack does not offer... it's also about the metabolic price you pay (& pay & pay)💸

☢️ You have to process the cheap seed oils, the additives, preservatives, flavour enhancers and other toxins, and your body does this for no nutritional gain - 0️⃣vitamins, 0️⃣minerals, 0️⃣aminos, 0️⃣ anti-oxidants 🙆‍♀️

The 'downstream' metabolic cost, the price we pay for not is very expensive. It looks like pain, swelling, rashes, hair loss, low libido, poor sleep, headaches, inflammation like gout and arthritis and carpal tunnel....

People often say junk food is cheaper than healthy food, but they'd be 💯% wrong
