🌈 Cedara Community Project Update!

The jungle gyms are officially IN, and the brand-new play area is ready for endless laughter, learning, and childhood memories for the Cedara community! 🛝✨

Our buildings are now complete too, and the entire site is truly coming together beautifully. Every step brings us closer to creating a safe, empowering space for children and families in the area. 💚

A special thank you goes to the Umngeni Municipality for approving the project and land use. Your support laid the foundation for everything else to fall into place. 🙏

This project is a powerful reminder of what makes South Africa extraordinary - organisations, partners, and community members coming together to uplift, build, and empower. 🇿🇦

Khulisani Academy stands with our community in raising awareness and speaking out against gender-based violence 💜🇿🇦

Together we stand for safety, dignity, and justice.

Gender-based violence continues to tear at the fabric of our communities, and too many victims still feel pressured to withdraw cases out of fear, intimidation, or hopelessness. We cannot allow this to continue.

On Wednesday, 10 December, uMngeni Municipality will host a peaceful march to raise awareness and to stand with survivors,especially women, children, and people with disabilities, urging them not to drop charges of sexual assault or any form of abuse committed against them.

Empowering Through Opportunity 💪🌾

At Khulisani Farm, hands-on learning meets purpose! Our dairy processing facility gives learners the opportunity to gain practical work experience in pasteurising, homogenising, and packaging fresh milk into reusable glass and plastic containers. 🥛✨

This locally produced milk is proudly delivered to coffee shops and businesses across the KZN Midlands, supporting sustainability and local enterprise.

What makes our dairy even more special? 💙

90% of our processing team are persons with disabilities - proving that with the right support and opportunity, ability shines brighter than anything else. 🌟

💚 November is Disability Rights Awareness Month 💚

From 3 November to 3 December, South Africa observes National Disability Rights Awareness Month, a time dedicated to promoting inclusion, accessibility, and equal opportunities for all persons with disabilities.

This important month culminates on 3 December, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, also celebrated locally as National Disability Rights Awareness Day.

Disability can take many forms, physical, cognitive, sensory, emotional, or developmental, and may be present from birth or acquired later in life. But no matter the form, disability should never mean disadvantage. This month reminds us that true inclusion begins with action. Let’s work together to remove barriers, change perceptions, and create spaces where every person, regardless of ability, can thrive with dignity, independence, and purpose.

Let's stand together and remain committed to empowering individuals with disabilities through education, employment, and meaningful community engagement.

🎓 SAB Graduation Celebration!

We were thrilled to celebrate the incredible achievements of our Plant Production NQF Level 2 learners, proudly sponsored by South African Breweries (SAB)! 🌾🎉

The day was filled with pride and joy as we honoured our learners with special awards for attendance, leadership, and teamwork - plus a few fun ones like the Future Farmer and Spirit of Khulisani awards! 🌟

After the ceremony, learners received their official completion certificates, marking the culmination of months of dedication and growth. The celebration wrapped up with cake, laughter, and heartfelt moments shared among peers and mentors. 🎂💚

✨ Congratulations to all our graduates. Your hard work, perseverance, and passion inspire us all. Here’s to new beginnings and even greater success ahead! 🌱👏

🎉 Heritage Day was truly celebrated at Khulisani! Apologies for the late post but it was too good not to share!

Our academy came alive with vibrant colours, laughter, and pride as we celebrated our diverse heritage through beautiful traditional dress. 🌈✨

The day was filled with joy, unity, and reflection - a reminder of how our unique cultures and shared values make us proudly South African. ❤️

🌍 Breaking Ground for a Brighter Future! 🌱

Collaboration creates lasting impact! 🤝

We’re thrilled to share that a brand new community upliftment project has officially begun - a true team effort between Khulisani , Employability Vulindlela, Container World, , Value Logistics , (HBC), and the Cedara community. 💚

This exciting initiative will establish an Early Childhood Development Centre in Cedara. The centre’s mission is to identify and support children with disabilities in the area, providing them with access to essential care and opportunities.

But that’s not all!

🍎 Employability Vulindlela and HBC will run a feeding scheme from the site.
🧠 Khulisani will sponsor therapy services for children in need.
🏗️ Container World has donated two beautifully converted container units.
🌿 Servest has sponsored landscaping.
🛝 Value Logistics has contributed fencing and a jungle gym to create a joyful play space.

A heartfelt thank you to every organisation and individual who made this dream possible. 💚
