This afternoon let us address a question which is on many minds in the winter months: “How do I keep my body temperature up if its freezing outside?”

The answer is much simpler that you would have thought…. Bring out those raw nuts!!!! They are packed with vitamin b3 which helps regulate blood flow. This is key to keeping your body temperature up.

So, couple a good serving of raw nuts with brown rice/potato cubes, and chopped raw veggies and salad ingredients, for the ultimate “winter beating” salad! Yes, this salad does exist!
Simply dress with some freshly squeezed lemon juice and drizzle with a generous helping of Avocado oil. Sprinkle with Himalayan Salt if desired, and warm right up... FROM THE INSIDE OUT!

Good Morning everyone, we often share delicious recipes with you all but today we would like to delve a bit into Healthy Cooking Principles. What do we mean when we talk about that? Let us share a bit with you from Barefoot Secrets - written by Mardeen Stoltz.

HEALTHY COOKING PRINCIPLES

Use appropriate oils to saute food (only when the use of oil is really necessary) such as coconut and another nut oil like avocado oil. Do not cook with seed oils, but rather with nut oils. Cook at very low temperatures over a longer time as opposed to cooking at high heat over a short time. Do not use margarine, processed butter, canola oil, grape seed or sunflower oils because they are hydrogenated oils and it has been proved beyond a doubt that they may cause brain-related diseases like dementia and arthritis, obesity, arteriosclerosis, a hardened liver and pancreas-related diseases. Cooking with these oils also causes cravings because they damage the hypothalamus which is responsible for partly regulating the hormonal system, as explained in chapter 7.

With the holiday season upon us, we should strive to be extra vigilant about empty foods...

But what are empty foods?

“Empty” literally means “containing nothing.” When it comes to food, empty means that food contains little or no essential vitamins or minerals. In other words, these foods provide nothing of value to your body beyond calories that create excess pounds.

It is so easy to get carried away in the festivities and forget about our health, that is, until our bodies start to complain, and then it is often too late, the damage has been done.

Meet Mardeen

Mardeen Stoltz has been a natural health practitioner for more than 31 years. She has been teaching and advising people how to differentiate between truth and falsehood in matters of health. It has been and will always be her passion and purpose to help people take responsibility for their own health.

Mardeen completed five years of research on new information and another three years refining her findings and utilizes this knowledge in what she calls the Embryonic-Reflexology Connection. This approach focuses on new opportunities to address the possible causes of incurable diseases. This is a brand new field in reflexology.

Education is a high value in Mardeen’s world: she developed a series of courses under the umbrella of BHealed, namely: (1) Health and Food, (2)Embryonic-Reflexology Connection and Advanced Reflexology Masterclass (3) Perceptual and Attitude Healing (understanding and co-operation with our soul), (4) Nutritional Microscopic Live Blood Analysis and (5) Self-Help Reflexology.

The base for all of this work is Pumpkin Tree Guest House and Rejuvenating Centre in Middelburg, Mpumalanga Province, South Africa. A consulting room, nine en-suite bedrooms and a conference room are nestled in beautiful gardens.
