DR. Shai's Widows Club Collaborates To Help Widows Get Their Lives Back With Dianetics Counselling
Recently, a special Trauma and Grief Counselling workshop was held in the Vaal by the Widows Club in collaboration with the Church of Scientology to train widows on how to deliver counselling sessions to each other.
Recently, a special Trauma and Grief Counselling workshop was held in the Vaal by the Widows Club in collaboration with the Church of Scientology to train widows on how to deliver counselling sessions to each other to help alleviate the traumatic and often life changing effects of losing a loved one.
'Widows Club', an organization founded by Dr. Masechaba Shai after losing her beloved husband to su***de, has been dedicated in empowering widows to stand up for themselves and reclaim their lives from the deadly clutches of grief.
Dr. Shai, who is no stranger to the damaging effects of death of a loved one, knows firsthand what grief can do to a person. In what she described as "literally the worst time of her life," she opened up about struggling with the stigma of being a widow, which gave birth to the foundation she called Widows' Club.
As part of her effort to bring alleviation to other women who suffered through serious trauma, her organization organized a workshop in collaboration with the Church of Scientology to teach the widows on the effective counselling methods of Dianetics - The Modern Science of Mental Health, used by over 20 million people across the world to permanently handle grief, trauma, anxiety and many more mental pressures that come with everyday living.
The widows were all counselled to incredible results and even more importantly, they further learned how to counsel others in the same workshop. Feeling a sense of relief and an opportunity to live again, they shared their gains from the Dianetics counselling session. They could finally talk about the painful losses they had experienced and carried with them. Mrs. Kantoro, one of the Leaders of the Vaal branch of the Widows Club said, "Many of us have been carrying this pain with us for a long time. We were trapped by it and were only living half-lives. This seminar has given us an opportunity to deal with that pain so that we can have our lives back. We really needed this. We really needed to have this healing session so that we can live our lives again."
Another attendee, who lost two of her sons to drugs was also given counselling. She described how she has not been living after the incident with her sons. After the counselling, she was seen laughing and expressing joy. She said, "For the past three years I have been stuck in the trauma of losing my sons. I never spoke to anyone about this thing. I couldn't talk to anyone about it, not even my husband. It felt like a heavy stone was sitting in my chest and I could feel it squashing every breath I took. I used to get so upset when someone would offer me red cakes because it was my one son's favorite and if someone offered me custard or even brought it into the room, I used to get so upset that I would start screaming at people because it was my other son's favorite thing to eat. For three years I have not touched it and that's how much grief and loss of loved ones took away from me. During the session, I could literally feel this heavy stone come off me and experienced relief like no other. I am going to tell my family, 'we are eating red cake and custard again' tonight because I am no longer held back by my loss but I cherish the moments I got to be with my sons!"
Many more came forth to describe the heavy burden lifted off after this workshop, with one of them saying "The Dianetics seminar has helped me to feel strong and powerful. I was lost after I lost my husband in 2020. I had so much anger towards everybody. I felt so sick all the time. I had so many questions and now I understand. Dianetics has helped me with so many things and in only two days."
Mrs. Kantoro concluded by saying "This is something that we need in this area. There are so many kids on drugs; our kids need this. Our families need this and the community needs this, not only widows. There are so many traumatic experiences and people don't have a way of dealing with it, but Dianetics explains exactly why these things happen and they give you steps 1, 2, 3, that's how you handle it. We can change this place; we can change this country with Dianetics. I can never tell you what you have done for us. We have been healed this weekend."
