🌟 Understanding Autism: A Journey of Discovery

Receiving an autism diagnosis can be a life-changing moment for both parents and students. It's a journey of discovery, understanding, and embracing neurodiversity 😊.

For Parents:
- A diagnosis can bring clarity to behaviours and challenges, helping you support your child better.
- It's an opportunity to connect with tailored resources, therapies, and communities.
- Embracing autism means celebrating your child's unique strengths and perspectives 🌈.

For Students:
- A diagnosis can be a powerful tool for self-understanding and acceptance.
- It's a chance to access accommodations, support, and strategies that enhance learning and well-being.
- Being autistic is a part of who you are – it's about embracing your brain's wiring and thriving 😊.

This journey is about growth, love, and empowerment. You're not alone – we're here to support you every step of the way πŸ™.

🌟 Weekly Wrap-Up (09 March- 13 March 2026) 🌟

What a splendid week at the skills centre! 😊

Monday: We kicked off with Ursula and art πŸ–Ό, wrapping up those gorgeous ceramic pieces (psst, parents - check your emails re art supplies πŸ˜‰).

Tuesday: Fresh bread was on the menu 🍞, with our young adults collecting and learning about community connections.

Wednesday: We dug into "What is Intellectual Disability" with the Western Cape Forum 🌟. It tied in beautifully with March's theme: My Feelings and Emotions.

Thursday: Beach day! πŸ–οΈ We cooled off, enjoyed outdoor activities, and practised self-regulation in public spaces 😎.

Friday: Hop on Hop off to Simon's Town πŸš‚! Scenic views, beach fun, and making memories 🌊.

Grounded, grateful, and looking forward to next week 😊.
