For many people drawn to psychology or counselling, It often feels that the road simply ends after Honours. "Where do I go from here?" We hear students ask every year. Turning your passion into a practical skill can be difficult. Experience is hard to find, guidance can be limited, master's programmes feel impossible to get in to. And too often, those who want to help simply don’t know where to begin.
Luckily, the road doesn't end there. There are a number of professional bodies such as SAAC, CCSA and ASCHP, that ensure counsellors are guided by ethical practice and professional standards that protect both counsellor and client. However, you may still feel you lack the relevant training or experience to confidently work in counselling.
That's where our course comes in.
We've built a hands-on, skills-based training programme designed to prepare people for meaningful work in counselling and community support. Participants are trained in six core counselling modalities, including trauma facilitation, grief counselling, relationship counselling and community counselling, along with a comprehensive module in ethical practice.
Each participant completes 100 supervised counselling hours at an approved placement site. It’s a chance to learn through real experience, build confidence, and develop your skills under the support of experienced supervisors.
This course is ideal for graduates in psychology, social work or related fields, as well as teachers, pastoral workers and community leaders who want to grow their skills and serve others with care and integrity.
If you’ve been looking for a place to start, this is it.
