This week I'd like to highlight Therapeutic Reflexology as one of the Foundations to understanding yourself. Your feet are a map of your body, journal of your life history and a mirror of your current metal, emotional and physical state. They can tell you where you've been and where you're headed and what is in your way! They can also act as the receptors of healing energy through the beautifully balancing modality of Therapeutic Reflexology.

Have you heard what your feet have to say? 👣

Contact me to book a foot reading (in-person or remote) and come and experience a deep healing Therapeutic Reflexology session in the KZN Midlands.

Nature provides significant, evidence-based healing for both mind and body by reducing stress, lowering cortisol and blood pressure, and improving immune function. Through practices like forest bathing, gardening, and ecotherapy, exposure to green spaces can alleviate anxiety, depression, and aid in recovery from physical illness. ❤️ www.jamespolakof.com

❓ “Are herbal medicines always safe because they are natural?”

Many people assume that herbal medicines are always safe because they are natural. However, plant-based substances can still have active compounds that affect the body.

Phytotherapy is a regulated allied health profession in South Africa that involves the use of plant-based medicines as part of a broader healthcare approach.

Herbal medicines may interact with other medications, may not be suitable for certain individuals, and should be used with appropriate professional guidance.

Understanding how and when to use herbal medicines forms part of preventative healthcare and informed decision-making.

Only practitioners registered with the Allied Health Professions Council of South Africa (AHPCSA) may practise phytotherapy lawfully.

🔎 Verify practitioner registration:

The AHPCSA maintains a public register of practitioners who are qualified and authorised to practise regulated allied health professions in South Africa.

A horse doesn’t care about your past.

They don’t sit there wondering what you should have done differently. They don’t replay your mistakes. They don’t worry about what tomorrow might bring.

They meet you exactly where you are.

Right now.

And that’s why being with horses can be so powerful.

Because the moment you step into their space, all the noise we carry as humans the overthinking, the pressure, the stories we tell ourselves has nowhere to hide.

They respond to what is present.

Your breathing. Your energy. Your tension. Your softness.

Not who you were yesterday. Not who you think you should be next year.

Just you.

In this moment.

And maybe that’s one of the greatest things horses teach us.

To come back into the present.

To feel the ground under our feet. To slow our breath. To stop dragging the past behind us or rushing into the future.

Because horses live in the now.

And when we’re with them, they invite us to do the same. 🐴✨

Many of you are going to be finding that you just can’t and won’t ‘do’ overload anymore - perhaps you are the kind of person who used to do too much, crammed too much in or tried to take on more than you are really capable of. You will start to notice that saying “No” to being overloaded or overstimulated is becoming a natural rhythm for you. And when we enter into this phase and we say, “No”, we actually do start to live at Higher or ‘Magical’ Frequencies.

Anger Isn’t the Problem. Disconnection Is.

For a long time, women were taught to fear their anger.

To soften it.
Silence it.
Spiritualise it away.

To label it “too much” instead of listening to what it was trying to protect.

But anger itself isn’t the problem.

Anger isn’t violence.
It isn’t chaos.
And it isn’t something that needs to be tamed.

Anger is life force.

It’s the part of you that knows when a boundary has been crossed.
The part that says, something here is no longer right.
The spark that arrives when something inside you is ready to change.

When anger has nowhere to go, it turns inward.
It becomes exhaustion. Anxiety. Numbness. Shame.

But when anger is met — truly met — it becomes clarity.

Over the years I’ve always been able to access the lioness within me.
Yet many times I’ve been shamed for it — told it was too strong, too confronting, too much.

I wonder how many of you have experienced the same from family, friends, or others around you?

Horses understand this instinctively.

A horse doesn’t suppress its fire.
It moves it. Shakes it through the body. Grounds it.
And then returns to presence.

No shame. No story. Just truth moving through.

This is something many women are remembering now.

Not rage for the sake of rage.

But grounded anger.
Fire that knows when to stand, when to move, and when to rest.

When a woman learns to access her anger safely, something shifts:

• she stops abandoning herself
• she stops explaining what should be honoured
• she stops shrinking just to keep the peace

This isn’t about becoming harder.

It’s about becoming truer to yourself.
