The Jubilee Health Centre will officially be closed from 18th March.

We are cancelling all appointments and contacting chronic medication patients, to whom we will dispense 3 months' meds in the next two weeks.

We are not equipped to test for Covid 19 and do not have the necessary level of barrier protection for our staff.

At this time we want to encourage our team members to stay at home and not use public transport. And to work in their communities to educate and help people avoid becoming infected with the virus and provide hope and practical assistance where possible.

And believe too that our patients need to stay at home to be protected, rather than come to the clinic.

Once a year we thank the people that work hard to make the Jubilee Health Centre exactly what it is. The loving home, place of refuge and sanctuary for the sick. These people are amazing at giving of their time, heart and knowledge! Huge thank you to the team.

It would be weird to thank patients for coming to the Health Centre as we believe that people should be healed and cured. We do want to thank our patients for believing in us and the staff. We are privileged to have such patient, loving, giving patients that make our days just that much brighter.

What a lot of people don't know is that we have a fantastic team of counsellors who help our Health Centre for caring about people who might not be physically ill, but need healing in other places of their life. We are super grateful that we can rely on these people to serve the people of Jubilee Health Centre with their hearts, ears and voices.

Philippians 4:4-7

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. This girl is a miracle. This morning we heard this story of one of our nurses. She previously worked as a domestic worker for a lady who was not a believer, but had great wealth. To encourage her, she gave her a birthday card with the scripture;

Deut 18:17-18
17 You may say to yourself, “My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.” 18 But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.

The lady never commented on it or mentioned it.

When our nurse fell pregnant, the woman told her to either have an abortion or lose her job. She decided to keep the baby and the woman fired her without paying her wages she still owed her for the month.

Now its 2015, she receives a payment from this lady, but 10 times as much as was owed. Thinking this was a mistake, she phoned the lady to tell her. It wasn't a mistake.

After she had been fired, the woman and her husband moved to J'burg, he lost his job, they were going through financial struggle and problems in their family. She found her birthday card with the scripture that was written years ago. It made her and her husband think they might need more in their life. This couple is now attending church and felt like they need to thank our nurse by repaying her.

We thanked God for this little miracle of a girl, whose life was spared through a courageous decision years ago. God is good, all the time. Even if it takes 5 years.

The new Jubilee Health Centre is great, but God is greater. We are settling in nicely and patients seem to love the new accomodation.

We were so excited to see the new Health Center open today! We are forever grateful for all the volunteers, sponsors, Jubilee staff and congregation and everyone that has been involved in the last 10 years. We thank God and praise be to him, for everything.

This Sunday we will be celebrating and thanking God for the opening of the new Health Center during the morning service at 9h30! Will you be joining us?
