We’ve heard some of your comments on our last post, and we’d like to explain why we can’t return to the single-clipped roll 🐾
The demand for Doggobone has grown rapidly - something we’re incredibly grateful for. As we scale responsibly, we’ve had to make decisions that protect both our values and our customers.
Doggobone has always prided itself on providing good-quality, honest nutrition that remains affordable for all. Sometimes, upholding that ethos means making difficult but necessary decisions.
Here’s why the single-clipped roll is no longer viable:
> Supplier limitations - our packaging supplier for the single-clipped roll could not keep up with growing demand, resulting in supply constraints.
> Labour-intensive process – single clipping requires extensive manual handling and slows production significantly.
> Cost implications – continuing with this format would increase production costs considerably, which would ultimately impact pricing.
> Scalability – the format is not suited to the volumes required to meet current and future demand.
> Consistency & safety – thermoformed flat packs and double-clipped rolls provide improved hygiene and more consistent quality at scale.
The food itself hasn’t changed - only the packaging around it.
These changes allow us to stay true to our ethos while keeping Doggobone safe, consistent and accessible as we grow.
