Yesterday, RH Piet Retief Private Hospital, together with one of our dedicated Dietitian, proudly joined the global community in celebrating World Diabetes Day under this year’s theme: “Diabetes Across Life Stages.”

Our team spent the day raising awareness about diabetes and highlighting how it affects individuals at every stage of life — from childhood and adolescence, through adulthood, and into the senior years.

We engaged with patients, staff, and community members on the importance of:
✅ Early detection
✅ Access to continuous, integrated care
✅ Supportive environments that encourage healthy lifestyle choices
✅ Lifelong self-management for improved quality of life

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the day meaningful. Together, we continue to champion better health, education, and support for all those living with diabetes. 💙

RH Piet Retief Private Hospital Celebrates World Diabetes Day – 14 November

Diabetes can affect people across all life stages — from childhood and the reproductive years to working age and older adulthood.
This year’s World Diabetes Day theme, “Diabetes Across Life Stages,” emphasizes that every person living with diabetes deserves access to integrated care, supportive environments, and policies that uphold health, dignity, and effective self-management.

The campaign highlights the need for a life-course approach to diabetes prevention, management, and overall well-being.

Our Key Messages
1. Diabetes can affect individuals at every stage of life.
2. Prevention and care efforts must be integrated and continuous throughout all life stages.
3. Supporting well-being and self-care empowers people with diabetes at every age.

World Diabetes Day offers an important opportunity to raise awareness about diabetes as a critical global health issue. Join us in spreading knowledge, promoting prevention, and supporting lasting change for all those affected by diabetes.
