We are deeply saddened by the loss of our colleague and friend, Ntombekhaya Vanto, lovingly known to us as Ntombi. 💔

Ntombi was part of the Robin Trust family for 10 years as a home-based carer. She had a big heart, caring for her long-term client (who adored her) as well as her extended family. As SR Alecia put it, she's an angel who has now got her wings.

Ntombi was a gentle, dedicated carer who brought kindness and compassion into the lives of those she cared for. She will be greatly missed by our team and by the client she supported so faithfully.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to her family, friends and everyone who loved her. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time. 🕊️

March is TB Awareness Month.

Tuberculosis is preventable and treatable, yet many people still don’t recognise the signs early enough. A persistent cough, night sweats, fatigue, or unexplained weight loss could be your body asking for help.

Early detection can save lives. By knowing the signs and encouraging testing, we can help protect our families, our communities, and those most vulnerable.

At Robin Trust, we believe that compassionate care and awareness go hand in hand.

Did you know that untreated hearing loss has been linked to an increased risk of dementia?

When someone struggles to hear, they may begin to withdraw from conversations, social gatherings, and the everyday moments that keep the mind active and engaged. Over time, this isolation can have a deeper impact than we realise.

At Robin Trust, we understand how closely connected hearing, communication, and cognitive wellbeing truly are. Supporting a loved one with dementia requires patience, compassion, and specialised care; and no family should have to navigate that journey alone.

If you’re concerned about memory changes or caring for someone living with dementia, our dedicated team is here to help.

Emotional health matters.
Not just this week - every day.

Small acts of care, real connection, and asking for support when needed can make a big difference.

Your brain LOVES serotonin - the “feel-good” chemical that helps boost your mood, calm your mind, and improve your sleep. The good news? You don’t need anything fancy to top it up!

☀️ Sunshine on your face
🚶‍♀️ A brisk walk around the block
🎶 Your favourite song (yes, sing along!)
🤗 A proper hug
😴 A good night’s rest
🥗 Nourishing food

Sometimes self-care isn’t a spa day… it’s a small, intentional moment.

Take time out to take care of yourself - your brain will thank you 💛

Our Story

Robin Trust, Non Profit organization with CARE as our focus: *Caring for patients during their recovery from illness or surgery in our sub-acute/rehab facility. *Offering elderly patients a dignified place of care in our frail care/Alzheimer's unit *Educating Nurses, Community Health and Care workers *Providing care at home and in the community (placement agency).

Robin Trust was founded more than 25 years ago by Leslie when her child became sick and she had to train someone to assist her as a single mom with her child. The need for training of carers became bigger and she continued to train people. Today, Robin Trust is functioning as a 10 bed step-down facility, a 23 bed Alzheimer unit, a college where caregivers are trained and a Care at home placement agency for carers.
