Frontier Fire Assist has been relentless in their commitment to protecting lives, property and land across our communities.
We met these legendary individuals at the Sibuya Fire, then at the Boknes one.... and again, in our own space. All in a matter of a few weeks. All the way, from Grahamstown.
Hundreds of volunteer hours, long distances travelled, massive volumes of water pumped, and teams showing up again and again and again, even when the work is exhausting and the conditions gnarly.

If you would like to support their efforts, please go check out their page here - - details are available on how you can support!

The Port Alfred Ladies Circle No.29 has also been nothing short of amazing, standing by and also taking on the task of managing the funds that have been received by our community, to ensure that every individual affected by this fire has resources available to rebuild and recover.

A special word of thanks to Sunshine Life Centre, a true community hub in Port Alfred where opportunity, support and hope come together and for receiving and coordinating donations for families who lost everything in the fires.

In desperate situations, we function as a support system for first responders. When the Chief calls, we listen.

Over the past few days, we asked the community to rally, to get water, electrolytes and supplies to our firefighters who have been battling fires since the weekend. And rally you did.

On behalf of the Ndlambe Fire Department, Working on Fire team and Chief Sauls, thank you to every person, business and volunteer who answered the call, from on-scene drop-offs to food, water, medical supplies and quiet acts of support.

A special thank you to Multi Security, Gem Auto and Kowie Toyota for stepping in when equipment and vehicles needed backup, allowing operations to continue without pause.

Thank you to Sunshine Life Centre for receiving and coordinating donations for families who lost everything in the fires.

And finally, to the people who put their hands up.
The volunteers. The ones who didn’t ask questions, didn’t wait to be told what to do, and didn’t hesitate when things got real.
People who understand that this is our town, our land, and our responsibility. Thank you!

This is what community looks like when it matters.

Our amazing community understood the assignment.

LifeFirst PA is doing a bit of mopping up at the shop today after a few intense days supporting our incredible first responders and firefighters, and admin is slightly behind.

While we catch our breath, we’re working through messages and getting back to all our clients and businesses throughout today.

We’ll also be sharing a few scheduled thank-you posts during the day, there are many people to acknowledge, and we don’t want to leave anyone out.

Thank you for the kindness, patience and support.

Ndlambe... thank you for being lekker. 🤍🔥
