Did you know that cardiovascular disease is the number one killer worldwide?

More people die from heart attacks, heart failure or strokes than any other condition.
According to the World Heart Federation, up to 80% of these deaths are preventable.

Today, on World Heart Day, take a moment to think about how just a few small changes could save your life:

❤️ Diet: Reduce your sugar, salt and fat intake, and eat more plant-based meals.
❤️ Exercise: Get at least 30 minutes a day.
❤️ Smoking: Cut back or quit – more than 1 in 10 cardiovascular deaths are caused by smoking.
❤️ Check-ups: Get your cholesterol and heart checked – especially if you have a family history of diabetes, heart disease or strokes.

Thank you to all the amazing cardiologists, vascular neurologists, cardiothoracic surgeons and their teams who have a heart for patient care. Today we honour you and the life-changing work you do!
