🚩Mouth breathing is a warning sign we shouldn’t brush off.

It’s not just a habit. It’s not something most kids simply “outgrow.” And it’s far from harmless.

An open-mouth posture is often one of the first visible hints that something deeper may be going on - affecting how your child breathes, sleeps, develops, and functions day to day 🤸🏻‍♀️

Why does it matter?
👃It skips the body’s built-in air filtration system
�💤It can interfere with deep, restorative sleep
�👅It keeps the tongue from resting where it should
�🦷It can contribute to a narrow palate and crowded teeth
�🧠It may keep the nervous system stuck in stress mode

The tired eyes. The meltdowns. The bedwetting. The focus issues… They are not random. They are often signals of a breathing pattern that isn’t working the way it should 😮‍💨

Mouth breathing isn’t the root issue. It’s a signal pointing to a bigger story🪾

Many children pass a hearing test but still struggle to listen, follow instructions, or cope in noisy environments.

This doesn’t mean they aren’t trying.
It could point to auditory processing difficulties - how the brain makes sense of sound.

Some children:
• Hear but don’t fully understand
• Get overwhelmed by noise
• Need repetition to keep up
• Misunderstand spoken instructions
