I use to avoid mirrors & cameras, even more so.
Not something you’d guess considering I grew up with a photographer as a dad & married one as-well.

Yet for some reason I always measured my body regarding her looks, the size she wore & the attention she got.
She was measured by a worldly standard & not appreciated for the art piece she was, by the original Creator!

Being reborn in Christ gave me a new look at health 🥰

❤️ I realised I can’t love other as I love myself, if I don’t love myself. A bit of a weird one, right?
❤️ I realised caring for animals & our planet resulted in feeding & caring for my own body.
❤️ and appreciation for our planet, nature and wildlife resulted in a lot of physical activity.

Living with a renewed heart results in so many things changing in the way we live our lives ❤️

So grateful for the community I get to do life with.

It’s such a joy to share happy moments with my friends, while on the flip side confiding in them during the hard ones.
Lockdown has been a season of isolation for our family.
It taught us about the value of community, the blessing of new friendships & the grace in spending time with our in-laws 😉

I’d love to hear from you; who’s your bestie, and what do they mean to you?

Our Bali-moon: the start of a new season.

A year ago we took the first step in starting our family. Little did we know that a year later we would still have empty arms & two babies in heaven. 👼🏻👼🏻

It’s been a year since we saw our first BFP (big fat positive). The memory edged into my mind forever.
Falling into my husbands arms, crying & laughing all at the same time.

I want to use this memory today, to thank God, for being with me in this season. For holding me up with every pregnancy announcement from friends & family. For arming me in Godly armour to stand as a prayer warrior for each new mommy-to-be & little baby in their wombs.
Know that I fiercely pray for each of you.

As a mom to babies in heaven, to those who have similar/different child-loss & infertility stories; I want to encourage you to have grace towards those who seem more fortunate than you, to love on those who say things that hurt, for they do not know what they are doing.

🤍🕊🌱

Adding some leafy greens to every meal was one of my first nutritional transformation goals.
It was the easiest step for me:
- breakfast; kale & mint leafs are easy to add to a smoothie
- lunch; replacing lettuce with spinach & Swiss chard in a salad.
- dinner; adding broccoli & cabbage as a side.

You guessed it; the top 5 Leafy Greens
1. Broccoli: 100g = 150% of your Vit.C daily dose 🍊
2. Spinach: cooked = higher calcium 🦴
3. Swiss Chard: protects your eyes from bright light ☀️
4. Cabbage: high in folic acid 🤰🏻
5. Kale: love your gut 🥬

A P P R E C I A T I O N

My Ephesians 5 man.
Your leadership in one of my toughest seasons has been my saving grace.
Your love for God shines like a beacon in the dark. As your wife I feel safe within your leadership, cherished by your presence and loved by your being.
I love that we get to build our marriage and family on the truth of Jesus Christ and thank you for being the head of our home.

Without your support and love my health journey would be a resisted one, and I would easily give up.
Thank you for adjusting to healthier ways, more sustainable food choices and giving up gummies (for the most part 😘)

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:”
‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭3:1‬ ‭NIV‬‬

There comes a time in your life we’re you can feel the shift. When one season moves to the next. Some birds come back from migration, sunrise rises earlier and we adapt within our habits.

What are some of your health goals in the new season? 👇👇👇

For some this goes skin deep, for others it scratches your soul.

She deserves to be loved for who she is.

Embrace the jiggle, find strength in the scars & take care of her skin.
We eat healthy for our shape (not to be skinny 😉), we drink (water) to keep our skin hydrated & we use SPF to protect it from harm.

But what about staying positive when she ‘fails’ us?
What does body positivity look like when your struggling to fall pregnant or when you keep having miscarriages?
What if her hormones are all over the place?!

This is a new journey I didn’t think I’d be taking.
Finding peace in my new size 10 jeans; approaching 30 is hectic 😂; was the easy part. But loving my vessel with a limitation such as unexplained infertility has been really hard.

So; I don’t have the right answers, but I do know that my body loves to be loved; just like I do ☺️.
~ I can’t buy her flowers, but I can buy her a bath bomb 💎.
~ I can’t get her jewels, but I can get her skin care that rejuvenates 🌷.
~ I can’t give her a hug, but I can smile back at her 🤗.
~ And yes you can take her out for dinner, so spoil her with the best 🍏.

LEAFY EVE

The LEAFY EVE story started with a regular school girl with a huge passion for health. This girl’s name is Danielle Ross. She started her career in health as a physiotherapist wherein she strives for a holistic approach with every patient. As her passion in preventative care grew, she realised she needed to broaden her approach to health and prevention.

This lead to the LEAFY EVE journey in Health Coaching. Danielle since started her studies in Health Coaching through the Health Coaches Academy, where she is expanding on her knowledge in nutrition and the techniques of coaching. Her familiarity with anatomy and the physiology of the human body has given her an in depth understanding of what a healthy baseline is.

During the Health Coaching process Danielle can guide you regarding nutrition as well as physical exercise. Both these aspects can be incorporated into a personal program in the process of achieving your goals.

Are you a ‘bride-to-be’ or ‘newlywed’? Then Danielle is the Health Coach for you. As for those ‘mama-to-be’s, she will have something especially for you, soon.
