I am a qualified ballet teacher (Cechetti Advanced and Associate – I.S.T.D.) as well as Pilates and Health Related Fitness (Royal Society of Arts UK and Sports Council of Great Britain Diplomas). I started as a professional dancer with PACT after attending the School Of Arts in Johannesburg. I began teaching Ballet and Exercise to music in 1980 when I broke my knee. Due to my own difficulties as a result of my injury and scoliosis I have a special interest in rehabilitation and strength training. I owned and ran The Coolhurst Studio in Highgate, London N6 for 12 years where I specialised in cross training for sportsmen and women as well as a variety of general fitness classes (after teaching at Holmes Place in Chelsea and Pineapple Studios in Covent Gardens specialising in PilatesPlus for dancers). I teach people at all levels of fitness, incorporating cardio vascular fitness with core strength, central balance, upper body to lower body strength integration, bone density and suppleness for overall health and weight control. In Johannesburg I owned and ran the PilatesPlus Studio in Parkview for 6 years. For the past ten years I ran our Venue and accommodation – The Old Cash Store - while teaching a few mornings a week. I now teach full time.
