As posted last week, my family and I are moving over to the UK later this year and I have sold my physiotherapy practice to Gerald Muller. Gerald is an ex PE boy who has returned here to settle with his family. He has similar years in practice to me and a strong background in sports and orthopaedic physio. Most of the rest of the staff are staying on so I have 100% confidence that you will continue to be well looked after if you have any physio needs 👐🏻

Gerald and I will be holding an open day at the practice on Saturday 22nd July, from 9am to 2pm. If you have a few minutes and would like to, pop in to say goodbye to me and to meet Gerald. I would love the chance to greet you before I go 👐🏻

We have exciting news to share about the physio practice...

Nicky has sold the practice to Gerald Muller, a physio who grew up in PE and has returned here. Nicky and her family are emigrating to the UK later this year but the practice will continue as before in Gerald's capable hands. Our admin and domestic staff will stay on and Karissa, our pilates trained physio, will stay on too.

We will say a sad goodbye (to lose her) but a happy goodbye (as she moves closer to her family) to Annemie who has worked in this practice for almost 8 years and has been an amazing asset to the practice both clinically and managerially.

We plan to have an open day in the next few weeks to give our patients a chance to say goodbye to Nicky before she leaves and a chance to meet the new owner, Gerald. Please watch this page or call the practice in a week or two for details of that open day.

Thank you all for the years of loyal support, i am going to miss you all like crazy but i know you will be in excellent hands and I plan to come back to PE for visits regularly.

With sport and sporting events returning back to normal slowly, we were fortunate to be part of the Blue Water Canoe Club weekly time trial on Tuesday that happens at the North End lake. Well done to everyone that participated and to the two winners of the vouchers. There were also lucky draw prizes handed out that will come in handy with recovery including hot packs, ice packs and therabands.

Thank you to all the paddlers for your ongoing support! We look forward to continue keeping you on the water!

A new year has brought some new faces to our practice and some exciting changes for some of our older ones. So we would just like to welcome Karissa Grant to the team at Nicky Roote Physiotherapy.

Karissa graduated from the University of Stellenbosch in 2014, after which she spent 2 years working as part of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team in the rural surroundings of Nelson Mandela Bay.

Since then she has worked in private practice gaining experience in Orthopedic pain and injuries and the rehabilitation of people with sports injuries. She has also completed her advanced training in STOTT pilates which she incorporates into her treatment sessions.

In her spare time she enjoys running, cooking and traveling!

We are off to a good start having opened the practice on Monday. We are continuing our careful precautions of social distancing by staggering our bookings and via thorough sanitising of surfaces so we are ready to safely help you be and feel your best.

Hello all

You will notice that we have blue ribbons and a blue sash around the tree outside our practice today to commemorate a special friend and patient, Gordon Smart. With our practice being in Mount Croix – Gordon was one of the stalwarts of the neighbourhood association and would go the extra mile in keeping our practice safe. He was always willing to assist us when we were in need.

So, today we are commemorating his life and keeping his family in our thoughts at this difficult time.
